MITRE’s Lexington Park, MD site has a diverse work program in support of NAVAIR with work in model-based systems engineering, Cyber Security, RF communications, airspace system safety assessments, Nuclear Command Control & Communications (NC3) systems, and systems engineering. Our primary areas of mission concentration include ISR&T sensor integration, NC3, resilient communications, and tactical aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operations.
The job is a Lexington Park, MD-based position; this work location is required to effectively foster staff relationships and shape the direct work program.
Job Description:
Leads and establishes standardized approaches to efforts across assigned classified environments, working with project engineers and security staff to determine requirements for server, workstation, and network configurations/software. Independently plan rollouts, implementations, and maintenance of systemsManage system/server resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability.Configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and secure systems and network devices to comply with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).Maintain records on workstations, servers, routers, firewalls, network switches, etc. to include system upgrades. Update servers, clients, applications, antivirus updates, maintain Active Directory, DNS, apply security patches, Continuous Monitoring logging, SCAP, etc.Possess a working knowledge of Windows 10 / Server 2012/2016 and experience with troubleshooting applicable systems.Assist ISSM/ISSO with coordination between sponsors, MITRE project leaders, and MITRE’s accreditation officials to obtain formal accreditation to operate classified information systems. Research new hardware / software products to acquire life cycle replacements and maintain software licenses.Verify that application software/network/system security postures are implemented as stated, document deviations, and recommend required actions to correct those deviations.Possess a familiarity with network concepts, Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems, client-server architectures, virtualization technologies, and basic troubleshooting concepts.Independently identify relevant technologies/topics and learn new technical skills.Work with stakeholders to resolve computer security incidents and vulnerability compliance.Basic Qualifications:
Typically a BS in related field and 5 years of relevant experience, or Associates degree in a relevant discipline and 9 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of related education, certifications and work experience.In accordance with DoD 8570.01M, the selected individual must meet the requirements of an IAT Level II as a condition of employment and computing environment training/certification (COMPTia Security+ CE and Windows cert).Active Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCIExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site presence.Preferred Qualifications:
