The Systems Administrator I will be responsible for maintaining, configuring, and ensuring the reliable operation of computer systems, particularly in a military environment. This role involves providing essential IT support, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting issues to ensure the integrity and availability of information systems at Fort Johnson.\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n\n
System Maintenance and Monitoring:\n\nPerform regular system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.\nReview system and application logs, and verify completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.\nManage and maintain all installed systems and infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance.\n\n\n\n
Troubleshooting and Support:\n\nIdentify, analyze, and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and network systems.\nProvide technical support and guidance to end-users to resolve system-related issues.\nDocument issues, resolutions, and processes for future reference.\n\n\n\n
Configuration and Management:\n\nInstall, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.\nEnsure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.\nManage software updates, patches, and security configurations.\n\n\n\n
Security and Compliance:\n\nImplement and maintain security measures in accordance with DOD 8140 standards.\nEnsure systems are compliant with organizational security policies and procedures.\nConduct regular audits to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.\n\n\n\n
Backup and Recovery:\n\nDevelop and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies.\nEnsure data is backed up regularly and can be restored in the event of a system failure.\n\n\n\nQualifications:\n\n\n
Education:\n\nBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.\n\n\n\n
Experience:\n\n2+ years of experience in systems administration or a related IT role.\nExperience in a DOD environment is a plus.\n\n\n\n
Certifications:\n\nMust meet DOD 8140\/8570 certification requirements (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Network+, or equivalent).\n\n\n\n
Skills:\n\nStrong understanding of system administration, including hardware, software, and networking.\nProficiency in Windows\/Linux server environments.\nAbility to work in a team-oriented environment, providing support to other IT staff.\nExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\n\n\n\nAdditional Requirements:\n\nMust possess a Secret Clearance\n\n
