Dine Source is seeking a Systems Administrator to support the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). We are looking for a candidate with strong systems engineering and communication skills. The candidate must have the knowledge, experience and leadership required to provide full-spectrum Systems Administration services to support the planning, design, test, update, documentation, implementation, development, and sustainment/fielding to the OCIO team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities:Windows Server Administration: Provide administration and operations support for Microsoft Windows Servers to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.Windows Desktop Administration: Manage and support Microsoft Windows Desktops, addressing user issues, and ensuring smooth operation.Active Directory Services: Maintain and support Active Directory Services, including replication, schema management, and troubleshooting.Security Practices: Implement and manage Microsoft Best Security Practices to protect IT infrastructure from potential threats.Patching and Configuration Management: Oversee patching processes and configuration management to maintain system integrity and compliance.AD Forest/Domain Management: Administer Active Directory Forest, Domains, and Forest Trusts to ensure proper domain interactions and security.PowerShell/Windows Scripting: Utilize PowerShell and/or Windows scripting for Active Directory management and automation tasks.Microsoft Azure Services: Provide support for Microsoft Azure Services, including setup, configuration, and maintenance.Domain Name Services (DNS): Manage and support DNS to ensure proper domain name resolution and network functionality.Group Policy Management: Develop, implement, and manage Group Policies to enforce security settings and configurations across the network.Kerberos Authentication: Support and troubleshoot Kerberos authentication to ensure secure access to network resources.Certificate Authority: Administer and maintain Certificates Authority to manage digital certificates and encryption services.Endpoint Deployment and Maintenance: Deploy, administer, and maintain endpoints to ensure users have reliable access to necessary applications and resources.AD Risk Assessments: Conduct offline Microsoft Active Directory risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.Information-Security Advisory: Provide advice on managing information-security related risks, ensuring the organization's data and systems are protected.Escalation Contact: Serve as an escalation contact for all support issues, providing advanced troubleshooting and resolution.Hardware and Software Support: Provide configuration and support for all government IT equipment and software applications, ensuring operational efficiency.Equipment Management: Perform inventory, relocation, installation, expansion, upgrade, refresh, connection, disconnection, and support/maintenance of peripheral devices and IT equipment. Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience): Requirements:Strong experience with Microsoft Windows Servers and Desktops.In-depth knowledge of Active Directory Services, including replication, schema, and forest/domain management.Familiarity with Microsoft Best Security Practices and information-security management.Experience with patching and configuration management tools and processes.Proficiency in PowerShell and/or Windows scripting for automation and management.Experience with Microsoft Azure Services and cloud infrastructure.Knowledge of Domain Name Services (DNS) and Group Policy management.Understanding of Kerberos authentication and Certificates Authority management.Proven ability to conduct risk assessments and provide security recommendations.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage hardware and software configurations and support a wide range of IT equipment.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, Azure Administrator, or similar.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in systems administration or a related role.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members and end-users.
