Soft Tech Consulting is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual to fill the role of a Systems Administrator III for an existing government client. The place of performance is in Alexandria, VA.

Responsibilities Provide vision and direction in workstation computing and virtualization ensuring that the system architecture aligns with the clients goals.Provide leadership regarding system design, architecture, integration and troubleshooting.Deploy, manage, maintain, and support Microsoft Windows (all versions), Active Directory, local applications, servers, workstations and related technologies.Advise, recommend and test new technology solutions.Administration and maintenance of support infrastructure for enterprise-level physical access control/intrusion detection system. Lead system design activities or reviews system designs to ensure that applications solutions will exhibit high levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, appropriate reusability and reliability upon deployment.Monitor utilization, capacity growth and performance of VMs and physical servers across several sites.Patch management knowledge in applying firmware and software updates to improve functionality, close security vulnerabilities, and optimize performance.Assist in the implementation of required policies, procedures, and configurations; may make recommendations for improvements.Function as a reliable team member and able to provide periodic 24/7 on call support.Responsible for ensuring the integrity and security of the physical servers, and hosts. QualificationsPost-Secondary Education degree preferred.
Technical certification a plus (e.g. COMP TIA A+ MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, SQL, VCP-DC or other Virtualization or related disciplines).
Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience within a WAN/LAN environment.
Demonstrate a proficiency in all aspects of enterprise level server/workstation systems.
Must be able to apply critical thinking to solve complex technical problems.Demonstrate experience with scripting, administration of VMware and Windows.Must be knowledgeable of server virtualization technologies, network fundamentals, technical systems troubleshooting and Microsoft Windows domain environments to include active directory, systems backups, archiving and disaster recovery.
Experienced with encryption technologies, SAN, NAS, and Networking technologies.Understanding of telecommunications protocols, router and switch configurations and deployment.Proficient in building and maintaining high-availability (>99%) enterprise class environments.Experienced with enterprise class monitoring and management tools of virtualized and physical environments.Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.Must be able to work independently with little to no oversight.
