PURPOSE
This position, reporting to the Manager of Systems Administration, is responsible for the daily operations of all virtualized and physical servers including system design, installation, development, integration, testing, documentation, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance of assigned systems within departmental standards. TAMU-CC is looking for a Windows Administrator to join its dynamic team of technical professionals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Systems Administration
Percent Effort: 50%
+ Manage physical, virtual, and cloud hosted servers in coordination with network, application, and desktop administrators, project managers, and end-users.
+ Function as a primary administrator for Active Directory, M365, Domain Controllers, Group Policies, and MSSQL.
+ Reviews internal and external customer system requirements and makes recommendations for server allocations.
+ Assists project managers with developing work plans and time schedules for projects including outlining phases, identifying personnel, and computing equipment requirements.
Support and Problem Resolution:
Percent Effort: 20%
+ Troubleshoots and repairs complex hardware and software for servers including configuration problems and routine network problems.
+ Provide Tier III support and assists staff with advance hardware and software troubleshooting.
+ Evaluates and follows through on issues and problems until resolved or escalated.
+ Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization in written and oral format.
Security and Compliance:
Percent Effort: 20%
+ Performs security and performance analysis, tuning, and assists with routine audits of systems and software.
+ Reviews the accuracy of documentation of server support methods, procedures, and configuration management.
+ Recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve security performance, and reliability.
+ Performs annual security assessments. Designs system security measures, data backup, and protection methods. Develops disaster recovery plans for servers.

+ May require availability to work some nights, weekends, and holidays.
+ Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION
+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
+ Five (5) years of IT experience in system, application, and/or database administration to include windows system/server administration.
+ Additional experience may be considered as a substitution for the minimum education requirement.
o Associate degree and seven years of IT experience in system, application, and/or database administration to include windows system/server administration.
o High School Diploma and nine years of IT experience in system, application, and/or database administration to include windows system/server administration.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
+ Project management experience.
+ Higher education experience.
+ Experience administering AZURE Active Directory, CAS, Shibboleth, and ADFS.
+ Experience administering VMware, F5 Load Balancers, Rubrik, Dell and Cisco servers, AZURE, Duo Security, NetApp, Enterprise SAN/NAS, MEMCM, and Linux.
+ Industry recognized certifications in related technologies.
+ Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
