Systems Administrator

General Purpose of the Job

Working with the IT Operations - Infrastructure Services team, the Systems Administrator - Virtualization role focuses on infrastructure products from VMware and Hewlett Packard Enterprises. The Systems Administrator will directly contribute to the implementation, support, administration and management of VMware and HPE based infrastructure throughout the enterprise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Overall deployment, management and support of virtual infrastructure.

Work closely with various technology teams and provide technical expertise to guide them on integrating with VMware products.

Engage with various technology teams as needed to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve issues.

Hold technical and business related discussions with stakeholders from various parts of the business. Use information gathered to develop and maintain an environment that address needs of the business using infrastructure solutions.

Participate in on-call rotation.

Education and Experience

2 - 4 years' experience in Systems Administration

High School Diploma required.

Specialized Experience, Education, Training, or Qualifications

Knowledge of broader infrastructure components (e.g. TCP/IP,

Active Directory, DNS etc.)

Understanding of virtual and physical network, storage and security concepts and practices.

Enterprise scale experience with the VMware vSphere or vCloud Suites.

Solid understanding of broader infrastructure components (TCP/IP,

DNS, WINS, DHCP, SMTP, LDAP, NTP)

Experience with change management processes.

Strong skills with Window Server platforms required.

Scripting skills (e.g. Powershell, PowerCLI, etc).

Experience with vRealize Operations Manager (vROPs).

Experience with HPE BladeSystem C7000, ProLiant and Apollo server platforms.

Experience with VMware Horizon View, Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop a plus.

Certificates (preferred)

VCA-DCV (Data Center Virtualization) certification preferred.

Salary/ Wage Range

$68,400.00 - $100,400.00 / year

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
