Soft Tech Consulting is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual to fill the role of Systems Administrator (Linux).  We are looking for a Systems Administrator (Linux) who will be a strong addition to the team.  The selected individual will join a collaborative team environment where they will provide expertise and support, including helping to define the projects objectives, support quality control and support coordinating the efforts of team members in order to deliver the project according to plan. The Systems Administrator (Linux) plays a role in client relations and the success of the project. Key to the success of this position is the successful delivery of projects, and effective communication to all levels of staff for reporting project status.

Responsibilities Implement and monitor testing and installation of Linux operating systems patches, updates, additional tools and future versions of all software.Perform preventative maintenance and Linux server patching after normal business hours as needed.Install patches and updates on Linux client servers and workstations.Ensure compliance with Cybersecurity Vulnerability Alerts and Security Technical Implementation Guides.Participate in Change Management Control process and submit Requests for Change.Ensure STIG checklists and associated artifacts for all responsible technologies are reviewed, and validation results are posted.

PREFERRED:

Administer VMware vCenter and vSphere servers and maintain STIG compliance.Perform computer imaging through client's mandated tools such as Kickstart, Satellite, Landscape and Ansible as well as develop and maintain up-to-date STIG complaint images across multiple networks that are compatible on all government furnished computer hardware.Automate patching of Linux servers and workstations using Satellite, Landscape and Ansible.Respond to and remediate security scan findings provided by Cybersecurity engineers.Respond and remediate software vulnerabilities identified in Information Assurance Vulnerability Memorandums (IAVM), Operations Orders (OPORD), Task Orders (TASKORD) and Cyber Task Orders (CTO). Qualifications BA or BS Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of overall applicable experience highly preferred.Minimum requirement is HS Diploma with 7+ years of overall applicable experience.Interim Secret is allowed until full Secret clearance.Obtain and maintain (if don't already possess) a computing environment certification relevant to job duties (must have within 6 months of hire).DoD 8570.01-M baseline certification at time of hire (IAT-II requirement which is a security+ certification)Experience with deploying software installations and updates using Satellite, Landscape and Ansible.Experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 and above.Experience administering Ubuntu 18.04 and above.Experience administering Linux services such as Samba, Apache and Postfix.Experience administering VMWare vCenter and vSphere 7.Experience with McAfee/Trellix.Experience writing Ansible playbooks and shell scripts.Experience integrating RHEL and Ubuntu with Microsoft Active Directory.Experience with security tools including ACAS and SCAP.Experience in evaluating hardware and software being considered for implementation.Experience with preventative maintenance and server patching.Experience with Change Management Control processes.Must be able to work independently.Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.Must be able to follow instructions and provide support to all team members.
