How a Systems Administrator – Network Monitoring Will Make an Impact:

Analyzing requirements, designing, implementing and maintaining enterprise monitoring tools and the supporting infrastructure.

Configure and maintain the service to include the entry of the network nodes, categorization, service assignment, alert threshold configuration on services and applications.

Maintain a 99.99% fully mission capable rate/ uptime for the network monitoring service.

Maintain a 90% compliance rate for vulnerability management and security compliance.

Provide quarterly status and configuration assessment of the networking monitoring service.

Within 90 days of a new monitor servicing release, provide a service migration plan.

Provide a quarterly vulnerability and security compliance status report based on scans provided by internal sources, citing the current vulnerability levels and security guidance compliance.

Developing and implementing custom dashboards and alerts to meet the requirements of the application teams, customers and other support teams.

Defining, creating, and maintaining processes required to monitor production and development environments to ensure a proactive approach for addressing alerts or problems.

Defining and maintaining monitoring products and component standards for monitoring capabilities to deliver a flexible, scalable, secure, reliable, resilient, and cost-effective set of datacenter services.

 Working with application teams, customers and other support teams to co-ordinate and facilitate incident triage and timely resolution of production monitoring issues.

Developing standard operating procedures and user guides for the enterprise monitoring solutions.

Identifying and developing ways to improve and automate monitoring to gain operational efficiencies and improve responsiveness.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Education: BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or other related scientific or technical discipline (May substitute experience for education) 

Required Experience: 5-8 years of relevant experience supporting projects of similar size, scope and complexity

Required Technical Skills: DoD 8140 compliance required. (CompTIA Security+)

Security Clearance Level: Active Top Secret (must have a T5 or T5R investigation within the last 5 years)

Required Skills and Abilities: Highly motivated, self-starter with great communications skills; effective problem solver; able to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment

Location: Washington, District of Columbia; limited telework may be available
