Systems Administrator Senior

Reports to: Manager Information Technology
Overview: Senior level position responsible for planning, conducting and overseeing assignments. Develops and executes plans for standardization, stability, and enhancements. (Typically servers, Enterprise apps such as Exchange, etc.)
Essential Duties: (Approximate % of Time Spent) - Provide project planning and reporting on all network projects.
- Develop controls and assist in the creation of practice area guidelines.
- Provide high-level technical guidance in server management, on-site technical support, data communications management, network security management, data management network management center management, and remote access management.
- Provide the interface from the practice areas to senior IT management.
- Plan and assign personnel for given projects or project tasks.
- Provide guidance to less experienced analysts.
- Provide 24/7 on-call support.
Non-Essential Duties: Performs other duties as assigned. All employees shall be in compliance with the Archrock Health Safety and Environmental Policy and local, statutory and/or regulatory requirements at all times.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to:
- Perform all duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate proficiency in a variety of network concepts and practices used in reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating all network aspects.
- Interpret and apply IT and organizational policy.
- Provide support requiring travel as needed.
- Establish cooperative and supportive relationships with internal staff.
- Proficient and effective written and oral communication skills in English.
- Demonstrate time management and organizational skills needed to complete competing tasks.
- Contribute to development of improved work processes.
Knowledge:
- Extensive knowledge and proficiency in windows server-based systems.(i.e. exchange, domain controller functions, files to print services).
- Extensive knowledge and proficiency in server architecture and roles, data communications, on-site technical support, network security management, electronic messaging services, data management services, and remote access services.
- Extensive knowledge and proficiency in Active Directory Services.
- Extensive knowledge and proficiency in SAN and NAS technologies.
- Extensive knowledge and proficiency in Network Management Center tools and practices.
- Extensive knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and Visio.
- Extensive knowledge of network architecture, windows operating systems, data communications, backup and recovery methodologies, electronic messaging, network security, and remote access systems.
Minimum Education and Certification:
- Bachelor's degree in computer related field.
Minimum Experience:
- 7+ years experience in network technology support.
- Preferred experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
Leadership:
- Expected to serve as a resource to others for knowledge transfer, training and checking work.
- May occasionally lead a team.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, and stoop.
- Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Problem Solving and Innovation:
- Most assignments regularly require problem identification where analysis of situations or data are required to provide a well thought-out solution.
- Solutions may require evaluation of variable factors, new approaches, planning and resourcefulness.
Impact:
- Actions and decisions impact costs and schedule performance in assigned area.
