HOW A SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Operate and sustain the on-going daily operational use of a VMware infrastructure including updating, testing and deploying the vSphere and vCenter product releases. This includes identifying concerns or issues encountered during installation, testing and deployment of new software releases.Manage and administer physical and virtual servers, primarily Windows and Linux serversSupport and management of server virtualization, server provisioning, physical server maintenance, security compliance and daily operationsManage VMware vSphere, with emphasis on automation, and enterprise storage and backup system administration, installation and on-going maintenance experience.Maintain server lifecycle - provisioning, maintenance, and decommissioning of the hardwareMaintain the virtualized server environment via configuration, implementation, management and support activitiesMonitor the virtual server infrastructure environment’s health status, service performance, and utilizationImplement and maintain continuous compliance to information security policies and technical standards, report and remediation of non-compliancesMaintain the security baseline compliance via configuration, implementation, and remediation activitiesApply regular security patches and software updateTroubleshoot, maintain integrity and configure network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performanceIntegrate new technologies into new and existing systems including the transition and migration of corporate systemsPerform systems administration of desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networks. Desktop system management responsibilities involving account monitoring, security, Operating System (OS) installation, and other local area system administration related functionsProvide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systemsManage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systemsProvides installation and operational support of voice and data communications hardware and software systems. Performs configuration of operating system and security patches for host and distributed systems and implements incident response procedures during incidents of a network or host security breach. Reviews customer requirements and makes recommendations for changes to existing technical architecture. Complies with prescribed customer, industry and agency standards.Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc. support, administer and maintenance of enterprise data center systems comprised of both physical and virtual servers, storage, backups, monitoring and automation as well as eventually Hybrid Cloud managementWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Bachelor's Degree with 12 years of experience or Master’s with 10 years of experienceRequired Skillset:Ability to provide in-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systemsBe able to provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated ticketsSecurity Clearance Level: TS/SCIRequired Certification(s):DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contractIAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent Computing Env: Computing Env: MSCA 2016, Microsoft Azure Administrator or equivalent (Must obtain the full AZ104 Microsoft Azure Administrator within 180 days from start date.)Location: On Customer SiteAdditional:Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contractPosition may require lifting of objects (i.e. IT Hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e. plug in cables) and other moderately strenuous activityTravel may be required to support the missionGDIT IS YOUR PLACE:
