As a system administrator sr - ST, you will be the onsite presence of a larger team focused on supporting industrial infrastructure technology in manufacturing/distribution plants. On an ongoing basis this position provides support to a wide variety technology. You will identify root causes of operational issues for new or existing technology solutions to resolve them. You will also help develop tools and scripts to facilitate maintenance and administration. You will also be responsible for execution of small to medium-scale projects supported by Starbucks Technology teams, under the direction of the manager. You will be expected to guide Partners at the facility for to the appropriate support venue for their technology issues and will work with other technology teams/vendors to resolve issues.
As a systems administrator sr, you will:
Work with infrastructure teams to identify tactical solutions to use cases for support and/or implementation. Help to outline support and sustainment model for service(s) being implemented. Installation of Network and Hardware (MDC) within the facility. Support the manufacturing and distribution technical environment. Work with manufacturing automation teams on supporting connectivity to PLCs and control applications. Assist with Wi-Fi implementation, testing and setup. Support distribution/manufacturing technology hardware’s including laptops, desktops, scanners, printers etc. Direct customers to RMA processes. Provide guidance on technology implementation and processes through the lens of Operational Sustainability. Works within team, across Starbucks Technology, business unit, with 3rd party vendors or systems. Leads investigation of root cause analysis for incidents, engaging vendors where needed, following guidance of managers and team leads. Troubleshooting, audit, system health queries via custom scripts or performance monitoring software; Create scripts to meet these requirements as appropriate. Patching/updates for OS, firmware, or software components; this could include coordinating hardware replacement. Gather metrics reporting such as trend analysis on recurring incident types and support team continuous improvement efforts. Collaboration with other technical service teams to manage, maintain, and resolve complex IT services. Hardware, software, OS implementation, design and sustainment. Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency, automate manual tasks, and lower the human intervention time on any tasks. Continuous Process Improvement though assessing OS and HW technologies, releases and upgrades.

Ideal candidate would have education and/or equivalent experience in a prior Systems Admin position Ability to use knowledge, sound judgment, and resourcefulness to support the design and deployment of global technology solutions Building on foundational skills to automate manual processes and growing technical acumen in role Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines Proven ability to participate with other functional teams in systems integration and design including writing operational specifications, test plans and requirements management with attention to detail. Demonstrates leadership skills to mentor non-technical staff on day-to-day basis. Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines including but not limited to breaking down engineering tasks/support tasks, and communicate obstacles or where help is needed. Ability to build strong relationships and influence others across the organization. Effective in dealing with ambiguity. Windows OS client experience, including security policies, settings and registry. Basic UNIX/LINUX including experience in system installation, configuration, administration, troubleshooting monitoring, and security procedures. Windows Server: including in depth expertise in system installation, configuration, administration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, preventative maintenance, capacity planning, monitoring, and security procedures. Experience in Active Directory including understanding of OUs, Groups, GPOs, etc. Disk imaging technologies and techniques Understanding of internet and network standards such as HTTP, DNS, FTP, SSH, HTML, XML, JDBC, ODBC, SNMP, and other protocols Understanding of high availability hardware and database systems design and implementation including cluster management, redundancy and failover testing Knowledge of storage systems (SAN, NAS, RAID Array, etc.) Experience hardening and maintaining secure systems (SOX or PCI experience a plus!) Network hardware experience with switches, routers, and network troubleshooting including understanding common concepts such as VLANS, subnets, SSIDs, various routing protocols (RIP, OSPF, EGP, BGP etc.). Ability to produce system documentation, including writing requirements, operational specifications, system architecture, test plans and as-built documentation, all with attention to detail. Experience with ITIL and Service Management best practices Familiarity with one of the following: PowerShell, Python, Lua, Windows Batch. Documenting best practices and sharing with other teams for operational excellence. Ideal candidate will have relevant education and/or equivalent experience in a prior Systems Administration position. 4+ years of experience supporting and deploying complex IT systems. 4+ years of operating complex, large-scale enterprise applications / systems

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
