Systems Analyst/Application Developer
CTG is seeking to fill a Systems Analyst/Application Developer opening for our client in Buffalo, NY. **Location:** Remote **Duration:** 6 months **Overview:** The Systems Analyst/Application Developer will play a key role in designing, specifying, and developing information systems solutions. This role will primarily involve solving complex problems, enhancing applications, and providing technical direction. The ideal candidate will provide principal application design for modifications, use advanced analytical skills, and ensure the technological soundness of solutions. This position may also include oversight of less experienced personnel and completion of special projects. **Primary Responsibilities:** + Lead and oversee systems analysis, design, and development for both basic and complex projects. + Act as a principal designer for major application modifications, utilizing available technology and tools. + Direct and monitor less experienced resources and coordinate development tasks for projects of varying scope. + Prepare, manage, and execute the technical components of project plans. + Collaborate with development, operations, and technology teams throughout the systems development lifecycle. + Develop and review test data, execute test plans, and perform debugging. + Identify and analyze complex interrelationships among programs, applications, and platforms. + Offer highly analytical consulting to assist business units in aligning technology with strategic goals. + Write clear technical and functional specifications, and review documentation from less experienced staff. + Lead assessments of project tasks, timeframes, and effort estimates. + Recommend new technologies or processes to improve business operations. + Maintain operational efficiency and effectiveness for supported applications. + Participate in technical evaluations of vendor software. + Adhere to and promote development standards and procedures. + Maintain a good understanding of the business and its functions, processes, and strategic direction. + Follow risk and regulatory standards, ensuring compliance within the Company’s Risk Appetite. + Promote an inclusive work environment reflecting the company’s brand values. + Complete other duties as required, such as participating in cost/benefit analysis or business studies. **Scope of Responsibilities:** The position works under the supervision of the Technology Team Lead. The role is capable of managing high-level systems analysis and technical phases of development independently. The candidate will manage and monitor staff performance on assigned projects, ensuring tasks are completed effectively and on time. The role involves interaction with senior management, other technology personnel, clients, and vendors, and may also serve as a technical representative on various committees or projects. **Education and Experience Required:** + Minimum of an Associate’s degree and 5 years of systems analysis/application development experience, or a combined minimum of 7 years of higher education and/or work experience, including 5 years of systems analysis/application development experience. + Proficiency in application development software and hardware platforms. + Familiarity with modern development technologies such as Angular 11+, Azure, .NET 8+ (C#), Moq Unit Test framework, Power BI, GitLab, and CICD pipelines. + Experience with TSQL and design patterns, such as Onion Architecture. + Agile and Scrum methodology experience is preferred. + Strong verbal and written communication skills. + Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. **Education and Experience Preferred:** + Familiarity with the Bank’s application framework. + Expertise in business processes with experience in the specific application or system being supported. + In-depth knowledge of interfacing or integrated applications. + Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. + Strong multitasking and project management skills for complex projects. + Action-oriented and proactive mindset. + Experience handling complex projects outside of standard business-as-usual tasks. The expected base salary for this position ranges from $115,000 to $130,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
