Compensation Range

Hourly: $25.70 - $30.30 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)

About This Job

The Credit Systems Analyst is largely responsible for supporting Commerce Bank’s implementation of Moody’s CreditLens by focusing on testing new features while also updating internal process and procedures.  As a key individual on the project team, you’ll spend time and work with other Bank leaders to test and collect feedback driving towards a smooth implementation and transition.  Additionally, you will have regular interaction with the Moody’s implementation team to ensure timely progress is achieved.  Finally, you will leverage prior experience of credit analysis and internal documentation thereof, to provide direction on best approach.

Essential Functions  

Test new features in CreditLens by building scenarios, testing process and providing feedback

Partner with internal training organization to create user guides and present to end users

Spend time with Commercial line of business and Credit Administration leaders to learn current processes and interactions with systems to implement the best approach going forward

Use prior analyst experience to provide feedback and drive towards replacement and enhancement of current underwriting documentation process

Engage with Moody’s project team on a recurring basis to provide feedback, establish and maintain deadlines and participate in training

Collaborate with internal IT, project management and line of business teams

Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required 

Basic understanding of loan structure including cashflow thresholds, collateral pools, covenants and other risk mitigating techniques

Basic level knowledge of Commerce (or other conservative peer bank) risk appetite with application during underwriting process

Intermediate knowledge of financial concepts and financial statements utilizing financial and accounting principals

Intermediate understanding of key financial metrics such as cashflow, leverage and debt service coverage

Strong critical thinking skills to manage complexity with focus on problem resolution to maintain deadlines

Drives results with an eye towards innovation and technology

Optimizes existing and future work processes by balancing input from stakeholders

Up to 5% travel between Kansas City and Saint Louis

Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage priorities with limited oversight

Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to most situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values

Education & Experience 

Bachelor’s degree in a Business related field, with a preference for majors in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience required

1+ year prior credit or financial analyst experience required

Prior technology, systems involvement or project management experience preferred
