Description:-
Responsible for building and leading high performing software engineering team(s) in the eLearning space. Measured by the successfully delivering high quality software on schedule.
• Lead and mentor Business Analyst team and drive requirements gathering and analysis for high-profile projects
• Facilitate executive-level stakeholder requirements reviews and requirements traceability reviews
• Oversee and manage requirements management quality across Business Analysis team
• Facilitate excellent requirements gathering/review/approval outcomes across overall project portfolio
• Lead by example - demonstrate tremendous ownership of the team, product and roadmap
• Derive KPI metrics to communicate and trace delivery of requirements as defined and agreed to across overall platform and all product teams
• Analyze business processes and provides guidance relative to emerging trends and strategy - understand our internal customer's product, know pain points, needs and strategic plans
• Lead and participate in process to develop requirements; evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, differentiate between actual and required user needs and distinguish user requests from the underlying business problems
• Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis and other relevant techniques
• Maintain understanding of trends and issues in the education industry
• Provide support and/or direction to project and program manager(s) in overcoming hurdles and moving projects forward by proactively mitigating open issues and project risks; maintain consistent communication channels between all vested parties (steering committee, business sponsors, technical stakeholders, development team, etc.)
• Monitor actual requirements gathering/documentation progress against agreed timelines and plans for all projects - keep Business Analysis team focused on weekly and final objectives
• Partner with the Executive Director - proactively identify opportunities to improve the team, process and/or product - formulate proposals and alternatives when confronted with problems - ask for help when necessary - find ways to ensure success
• Build strong partnerships with peer Development, QA, Product Management, Documentation, Operations teams
• Formulate weekly project status reports - identify and communicate risks and issues - proactively formulate contingency plans
Qualifications
• 10+ years of commercial software experience, at least 5 years in a management or leadership role
• Proven ability to successfully lead analysts teams
• Passion for execution and continuous improvement
• Demonstrated ability to motivate teams, maintain morale and encourage team cohesiveness
• Excellent organizational skills - able to plan and execute engineering activities across concurrent release
• Collaborative but decisive personal style; highly effective communicator and problem solver with ability to assess and clearly communicate technical and project risk
• Excellent project management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• B.S. degree required, CS or IT degree preferred
