The Systems Analyst provides technical expertise related Oracle Retail Merchandise (RMS) applications. This is hands on development position and looking for candidate with coding/development experience. Designs customizations, conversions, and interfaces as necessary. Position requires ability to produce technical and functional design documents. The Systems Analyst will be responsible for developing solutions on Belk’s Retail Systems. This role requires technical expertise in developing Java based applications. Ideal candidate will have a combination of technical and functional knowledge of the Oracle Retail applications (80% technical – 20% functional). May require extending expertise to other merchandise applications in retail domain as needed.

·         Work with IT and Business partners to understand the business requirements and challenges and design viable solutions to achieve desired goals.

·         Develop enhancements, build new functions and workflows. Deploy patches and maintain existing applications.

·         Product Development: Contributes to product and solution designs to address critical issues and complex problems

·         Understands technical architecture and writes software and automated tests that are aligned with agreed upon standards: Performs trouble-shooting efforts and investigations when necessary.

·         Support with upgrading the application and handling any issues.

·         Application Support: Provides ongoing support, monitoring, and maintenance of deployed products.

·         Advice and Guidance: Actively works with less experienced software engineers providing technical guidance and oversight

·         Work pro-actively with the extended project team to strategize on opportunities, cross-training, and knowledge transfer.

·         Emerging Technology Monitoring: Actively participates in the engineering community, staying up to date on new software technologies and best practices and shares insights with others in the organization

·         Participates in product, solution and/or technical training and maintain detailed level of product.

 

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related field or equivalent combination of industry related professional experience and education3 to 5 Years of IT Experience developing batch and Front-end UI applications using Java, SQL, PLSQL, Shell Scripting and Relational Database (Oracle/DB2/Snowflake etc.)Knowledge of project life cycles requirements gathering, solution architecture, solution design, development, implementation and post implementation support.Collaborates with project teams on application and module design that achieves the quality attributes of performance, scalability, and availability.Experience realizing applications from conception, to design, implementation and support.Experience with application lifecycle methodologies (e.g. agile, iterative)

Knowledge & Skills

Experience in developing code using Java and Java Scripts.Strong SQL and Database (Oracle, Snowflake) SkillsProficiency in coding in PL/SQL, Shell scripts, Proc*CExperience with supporting technologies like AIX/Unix, Shell Scripting.Knowledge of integration methods and developing/working with REST APIs, Webservices, Java Messaging Services, ETL etc.Experience using tools like Jira, Confluence, Bit Bucket, Oracle SQL Developer/Toad, CI/CD automation tools.Integration tools like Google Postman, JSON/XML Editor, Unix Editor, Eclipse
