Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit In support of the mission of UNC Greensboro, the University Registrar’s Office (URO) fosters student success and cultivates exemplary student experiences for all University constituents related to academic records, policies, and regulations. Position Summary The Systems & Reporting Support Specialist is member of the Registrar’s Systems & Reporting team and serves the URO as associate webmaster, report support, data specialist, and systems & hardware technician. The positions are primarily responsible for technological, systems, and reporting-running functions within the URO. Additionally, the URO Support Specialists will develop a solid understanding of how to leverage reporting and data analysis to support student needs and the institution’s strategic goals. Supports the Systems and Reporting Analysts and the entire URO team with technical issues and validating data while adhering to all policies associated with the safeguarding of student information. Collaborates with the Systems and Reporting Analysts, ITS and the University community regarding software updates, configurations and customizations. Assist with the testing and development of workflows, projects, and enterprise resource planning process. Use Banner data and consult with key Banner users to accurately interpret, troubleshoot, and maintain the accuracy of the data. Demonstrates expertise in Banner Student, Argos Reporting, WebFocus Reporting, Degree Works, Student Data Mart, CLSS, Slate and UNC Online. Manages and oversees the production of student data reporting. Key Responsibility URO Systems Integration and Support Essential Tasks Coordinate creation and maintenance of security roles for Banner student systems. Participate in the development of long-range and short-term goals and strategies. Reports all concerns, issues, and discussion items to the relevant authorities in the URO. Assists department and university with technical issues related to student data. Manages and oversees the production of student data reporting. Provides support to Systems and Reporting Analysts in correction and updating Student DataMart. Provides Banner and general technical support (hardware/software) for the office. Prepare and submit the National Student Clearinghouse reports as well as ad hoc report requests for directory request information. Collaborate with staff, faculty, administrators, and technical staff to analyze, research, and resolve complex system issues once the information is applied in the various systems. Key Responsibility Process Improvement and Review/Maintain Business Process Documentation Essential Tasks Analyze current business processes and existing policies and make recommendations and updates to drive continuous improvement and maximize resources in the Systems and Reporting area. Maintain detailed documentation, dictionary of value definitions, new process documentation, and training guides.. Identify, develop, and maintain standard procedures/documentation and operational calendars for the URO. Maintains inventory of technology within the URO. Key Responsibility Other duties as assigned Essential Tasks Attend meetings as needed. Assist with special projects. Attend training sessions, webinars, conferences to maintain current knowledge on the new releases of Banner and other software identified to assist in the student success in higher education. Provide timely, accurate, and friendly customer service to students, staff, and faculty who call or email with questions. Graduation from high school and one year in the field of technology related to the positions’ role. Computer coursework may be substituted year for year for the required experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
