Job Summary

Join our talented team in Danbury, CT as a Systems Architect focusing on Software and Electrical integration. This position offers an opportunity to develop some of the world’s most highly power dense solutions, the ability to work on unique applications, the ability to provide technical oversight and guidance, and the opportunity to mentor and coach upcoming engineers. This position is responsible for conceptualizing, analyzing, and specifying the control and power architecture of complex systems and subsystems for motor drives, power converters, and uninterruptible power supplies ranging from several horsepower to multi-megawatts. Responsibilities include driving technology and completion of activities on time and budget, both independently and as part of a team. 

What You Will Do Review customer specifications and requirements, and develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable. Conceptualize the architecture of complex systems and subsystems relating to power electronics, drives and uninterruptible power supplies. Create the system level technical documentation and budget estimates for proposals. Identify and develop strategies to retire key development risks. Verify product or subsystem performance through simulation, analysis, and/or laboratory test. Generate the necessary design requirements to specify components and subsystems of a product through the use of a requirements traceability matrix (RTM). Support the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements. Utilize experience to support critical design reviews, providing insight at a system as well as a component level. Interact with technical management, other professionals, technicians, and support personnel to coordinate, recommend, and confer regarding technical activities and progress. Education & Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree in the field of electrical engineering or equivalent technical field and at least 8 years of detailed design experience in power conversion applications. Proficiency with MATLAB and Simulink simulation tools for simulation of electrical systems down to a component level. Proficiency with advanced simulation concepts such as PIL, HIL. Basic knowledge of Control theory – Closed Loop PID control - and motor theory. Knowledge in CI/CD including automated test concepts. Proficiency with VHDL or Verilog FPGA design. Proficiency with C/C++ software development. Model-based design and real-time modeling experience of power electronic systems. Experience with Navy applications and market. Candidates must be a US citizen and meet DRS security standards as imposed by DoD, including the issuance of any necessary security clearance by the US government within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
