GENERAL FUNCTION

The Business Solutions Architect (BSA) works directly with business leaders to design and implement solutions to a business challenge.  Works closely with cross functional competency leaders to ensure an optimal end to end solution to meet business needs and drive value.  The BSA has the capability to achieve a high level of functional expertise for all of the products and services offered.  The BSA focuses on designing and demonstrating the value of the end to end solutions.  Leads work teams and external vendors/consultants as necessary.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Drives the alignment of solutions to business needs with or without technology enablement. Defines architectural solutions and principles and manages future changes. Owns application decisions as it relates to design and business satisfaction while maintaining scalable and reliable solutions. Acquires and maintains expert level knowledge of integrations, processes, and systems. Ensures code delivered aligns to agreed upon principles, design, etc. and satisfies the stated business need. Maintains effective communication with internal business partners and vendors to ensure business needs are met. Lead business requirements gathering process by responsibly collecting, analyzing, reviewing, documenting, and communicating business needs to ensure the proposed solutions meet business requirements. Employ techniques to derive information e.g. business process mapping/modeling, As-Is/To-Be business process analysis, functional and non-functional system requirements. Collaborate with brand/business, related functional areas, development and/or other stakeholder teams to identify user requirements and recommend solution options. Document work, including change requests and functional specifications, and manage changes to documentation. Test system changes/enhancements related to assigned business processes to ensure changes satisfy business requirements with no negative impact. Assist in the development of end user documentation including help document instructions and release notes.

 

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience 8+ years of experience as System or Solution Architect including vision, principles, roadmaps, design system documentation, and architecture approvals Understanding of Busienss Process, Application, Data and Technology architecture Strong balance of business and technology acumen Strong understanding of software development life cycle, project management, business process management requirements definition, functional design, quality management, and change management 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field Excellent communication, innovation, critical thinking, problem solving, planning, prioritization, task management, teamwork, and organization skills Ability to conduct reviews and walkthroughs with effective communication of findings Ability to proactively take prompt action to accomplish objectives Keeps focused; ability to manage multiple, changing priorities. Comfortable playing a leadership role with technical and business resources. Functional experience in retail industry a plus

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
