Job Description
Teledyne Monitor Labs (TML) has more than 40 year’s global experience in the design and manufacture of continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS), process monitoring, industrial sensors and instruments, ambient monitoring, and software.
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the assembly of custom engineered systems using project drawings in addition modifications and changes during the build phases. Working inside with a small shop team environment, working with your hands building million-dollar systems for one of the top companies in the business that produces Continuing Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS).
KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITY NECESSARY FOR ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF JOB Knowledge of working with power tools, drilling, tapping, pneumatic plumbing using soft and rigid tubing, building devices from a blueprint. Able to work overtime when schedules are needed. Must be an initiative-taker with the ability to work with or without supervision. Willing to work with compressed air and gas pressures exceeding 100psi and with voltages from 12vdc to 480vac. Able to read and interpret formal blueprints and drawings and able to troubleshoot and repair control instruments and devices when needed. Able to travel for occasional field service start-up of engineered systems but not required.
EDUCATION/FORMAL TRAINING NECESSARY FOR ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF JOB An approved apprenticeship or equivalent vocational school in electrical and electronics or associated field with 2-year technical degree or military experience is highly desirable.
Three to five years of practical wiring to terminal blocks and programable logic controllers (PLC), troubleshooting measurement controls and related instrument and devices to include power supplies, pneumatics, gauges, valves, relays, flowmeters, regulators, and controllers.
Able to understand both digital and analog logic and devices. Must be familiar with basic machining and calibrations techniques to assemble mechanical components and integrate them into a system.
MATERIAL/EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED
Fully equipped tool cabinet with electrical/electronic tools are included as well as basic hand power tools and soldering stations. Forklift operation desired or will be trained. Small machine shop with pipe threader, drill press, sander, grinder, etc.
WORKING ENVIROMENT/PHYSICAL ABILTIES REQUIRED FOR JOB
Clean industrial temperature-controlled area. Must be able to lift 70 lbs. and able to stoop, bend and reach comfortably, using ladders and various hand tools. Must be able to stand for extended periods.
