Where is the work:
This position is eligible for a Hybrid work schedule (3 or more days onsite a week) and will be based out of our Latham, NY or Syracuse, NY office.
Summary:
Trane Technologies, the global leader in innovative climate solutions for a sustainable world, is seeking a System and Controls Sales Leader. In this role, you will function as area sales leader for business sold through the Equipment and Controls revenue stream in the Pine Brook, NJ office. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining long-term customer relationships, maximizing account penetration, and customer retention with contractor and consulting engineer/architect accounts. Sales constitute all the processes and functions required for obtaining inside/outside sales and ensuring customer satisfaction.
What you will do:
· Responsible for directing and developing our team of Equipment Systems and Controls Account Managers and other subject matter experts.
· Overall responsibility for the following functions: customer and area sales management, strategy development, new customer acquisition, customer satisfaction measurement, price management, marketing, maximizing account penetration, market penetration, customer retention, hiring and on-boarding of new sales associates, continued assessment of skills and administering necessary training, setting quotas, managing expense budgets, accurate sales forecasting and consistent use of Trane sales tools and systems.
· Lead monthly financial reviews and conduct analysis on team performance using necessary business/performance metrics.
· Responsible for achieving annual objectives regarding profit, volume, margins, business mix, and share.
· Assemble high performance teams and interact with Account Managers with differing business development requirements, customer focus, experience, sales cycles, and product portfolios.
· Manage ongoing performance by monitoring and coaching Account Managers’ effectiveness and efficiency in relation to project attainments, customer service, customer relationship development, and business profitability.
· Maintain customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and sales team as needed.
· Partnering with Sales Leadership counterparts covering owner accounts to drive strategy for key project closure.
· Partnering with Operation Leadership to drive customer satisfaction and completion of projects on time and under budget.
What you will bring:
· Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, business or equivalent from a four-year college or university preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Minimum three (3) years of related experience in a sales leadership role.
· Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to:
o DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
Salary: $130,000 - $175,000 per year, plus incentive
