Systems Development Lead
• The Systems Development Lead (SyDL) is part of the Systems Engineering team on a project and is responsible for planning, managing, and tracking all Systems Engineering development tasks. The SyDL is part of the core project engineering team and reports directly to the System Project Lead (Technical Project Manager). The SyDL is the primary interface with the customer, project stakeholders, and the team for all systems engineering related tasks. The SyDL is responsible for the quality of the systems engineering work products.

Products and solutions range from existing portfolio Power Electronics - BorgWarner, but go far beyond and will include NPIs as well as applications projects.

Key responsibilities

Lead and be accountable for the systems development activities of new automotive products for hybrid and electric vehicles.Responsible for planning and managing system development tasks from stakeholder requirements analysis through system architectural design (left side of the V-model) according to product release plans.Define, maintain, and ensure compliance with system development strategiesAssign stakeholder requirements to product releases and lead work to achieve system deliveries that meet input requirements and program expectations with agreed resources and other prerequisites.Develop the systems engineering feature rollout plan through internal and customer review.Lead system configuration management, system integration, and system release activities.Responsible for generating the necessary system documentationSupport relevant change management, problem resolution, functional safety, system analysis (FMEA, FTA, etc.) and system validation activities.Ensure quality of systems engineering tasks and work productsCommunicate and report status and progress of system development activities to internal and external stakeholdersWork as part of the global development teamParticipate in the implementation of relevant standards, in particular ISO/TS 16949, ASPICE, ISO26262, IEC21434.Review process effectiveness and efficiencyPerform process audits and drive continuous process improvement

What we’re looking for

Bachelor's degree in electrical/electronic, mechatronics, or software engineering. Master's degree in related field preferred.5+ years of experience in automotive electronics, e-mobility, or related fieldInitial technical leadership experience preferredGood knowledge of automotive ECU development, high-voltage inverter preferredGood knowledge of systems engineering principles and guidelines (e.g. INCOSE) and high process orientationGood knowledge of project management and project management tools, e.g. MS ProjectExperience with a requirements management tool e.g. Polarion, Doors etc.Experience with a task management tool e.g. JIRA, IBM Rational RTC etc.Experience with automotive standards such as ISO26262, ASPICE, etc.Ability to solve high level technical issues in a time critical environmentGood communication, leadership and intercultural skillsEnglish (at least B2) is required.
