Amentum is seeking a seasoned Systems Engineer with experience planning, developing and executing Test and Verification activities for the Gateway Program.

The Systems Engineer, Gateway Test and Verification will\:

Work with NASA Engineering teams to manage the assessment of certification products.  As part of the larger team, review products such as Test and Verification plans and Qualification Test Reports.  Facilitate review of certification products such as qualification test reports and identify key stakeholders and technical expert reviewers.  Review and approve verification documents to make sure that all testing requirements have been met. Support developing verification database based on Gateway and Cross-Program requirements Support developing test cases and events to support verification activities Coordinate with requirements owners to ensure correct, complete verification activity Coordinate with test lab teams to prepare environment for execution Support verification execution, including test and analysis activities​ *

Requisition Qualifications\:

This position has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.

Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and normally possess 5-10 years of related experience. License and certification may be required.  Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, and material selection.  Knowledge of systems engineering principles and associated documentation.  Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings.  Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervision.  Experience working in a team environment.  Familiarity with Microsoft Office products. ​

Requisition Preferences\:

Working knowledge of NASA and JSC standard practices and requirements including safety, fault tolerance, and unique disciplines.  Experience with the development of space systems requirements documents including Verification and Validation documents.  Experience with the design, assembly, verification, testing, and operation of hardware.  INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certification. Familiarity with NASA/JSC documentation databases and share point sites as well as typical systems engineering products

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Equipment and Machines

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.

Professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
