Department Summary: MITRE’s Responsive Operational Planning Department in the Air Operations Division of the Air & Space Forces Center helps the Air Force provide the warfighter with Command and Control (C2) capabilities to gain a competitive edge in air superiority against peer adversaries. Their mission is to enable the Air Force to deliver effective C2 capabilities through continuous delivery, agile development, and DevSecOps. Roles & Responsibilities: + Lead the development and integration of complex systems for Air Force C2 capabilities. + Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project alignment and success. + Implement and oversee agile and DevSecOps methodologies to improve system delivery. + Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams. + Identify and resolve system engineering challenges and technical issues. + Communicate project progress and technical insights to stakeholders. Basic Qualifications: + Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience. + Strong background in systems engineering and integration. + Experience with agile development and DevSecOps practices. + Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. + Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. + This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site Preferred Qualifications: + Experience with military or Air Force C2 systems. + Knowledge of cloud computing and cybersecurity. + Advanced degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. + Proven leadership experience in technical environments. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
