SYSTEMS ENGINEER 5– ENTERPRISE IT INFRASTRUCTURE

Job Summary

This position contributes to developing the technical vision and leading transformative enterprise-wide solutions development and implementation. This senior engineering role combines deep technical expertise with broad understanding of the technology landscape, empowering the organization to adopt cutting-edge solutions while addressing business and security challenges. The Solution Architect acts as a critical partner to executive leadership in defining and implementing the firm’s IT strategy and roadmaps.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Perform independent research and collaborate closely with executive management and key stakeholders to evaluate operational needs, improvement opportunities, and constraints aligned with the company’s long-term strategic objectives and regulatory compliance priorities particularly in areas like cloud-native services, AI-driven operations, and advanced security frameworks.

Develop conceptual architecture and design alternative for enterprise-wide information technology solutions, conduct technology research, develop technical requirements and establish criteria for platform and/or technical architecture selection to guide decision-making for large-scale infrastructure investments, ensuring alignment with business risk, scalability, and cybersecurity requirements.

Lead technology and solution architecture evaluation, develop the architecture and implementation roadmap, identify risks and mitigations approaches, and develop, test, and refine technical plans to support solution roll-out.

Lead collaboration with engineering leaders/team members, cybersecurity, service desk leadership and other critical functions to ensure seamless roll-out of new solutions; provide escalation-level operational support.

Collaborate with enterprise IT and cybersecurity leadership, as well as other stakeholders, to evolve our governance frameworks to ensure that IT infrastructure adheres to regulatory standards and best practices for cybersecurity, data governance, and operational resilience.

Serve as a mentor to senior engineers and emerging leaders, nurturing the next generation of technical expertise within the organization. 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field is required

10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise IT architecture, infrastructure engineering, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a senior technical leadership role.

In-depth knowledge and extensive working experience with IT infrastructure, collaboration and communication, application delivery, data management and software development solutions and services across two or more distinct technology stacks.

In-depth knowledge of cloud solutions (multi-cloud strategy, hybrid cloud architectures), advanced security protocols (Zero Trust, Advanced Threat Protection), and large-scale data governance.

Exceptional communication and leadership skills, capable of influencing and guiding decisions at the executive level.

Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline is strongly preferred.

Advanced Microsoft, AWS, and or comparable advanced IT solution architecture and engineering certification strongly desired.
