Systems Engineer
Job Title: Systems EngineerJob Description We are looking for a Systems Engineer who will be involved in the analysis, design, development, and implementation of new and/or existing systems/sub-systems. This role may encompass responsibilities such as Architectural Design, Requirements Engineering, among others. As a systems engineer, you will be responsible for determining system specifications, supporting the acquisition of hardware and software, and leading a group of engineers on technical activities. Your role will extend to designing, developing, analyzing, documenting and supporting the testing of products, systems, or subsystems. You will be using computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of your assignments. Your goal will be to develop designs that best support customer specifications and requirements, with cost as a key design variable. You will also provide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments, specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services, and drive the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements. Additionally, you will develop prototypes to retire key development risks and participate in the preparation of proposals. Hard Skills + Requirements management tools, DOORS highly preferred but must have a formal tool + MATLAB or a similar analysis tool + Experience with Electro Optic Infrared Systems + Experience with integration and test of EO/IR systems + Defense industry experience Soft Skills + Ability to lead a group of engineers + Ability to review customer specifications and requirements and develop design to best support them + Ability to provide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments + Ability to specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services + Ability to participate in the preparation of proposals Job Type This is a contract position with a duration of 1 Year(s). Work Site This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Melbourne, Florida and some days remote. Work Environment You will be working in a dynamic environment that encourages knowledge sharing and mutual assistance. You will be providing technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role is required along with a Bachelor's degree in engineering.
