The Strategic Division (SD) supports high-reliability organizations including Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP), Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, and the Department of Energy (DOE), among others. Our support across our client base is expanding rapidly and encompasses important services, such as data analytics and visualization, threat analysis, risk management, modeling and simulation, cost estimating, earned value management, program management, systems engineering, independent evaluation, and High Consequence Event prevention.
SPA's Strategic Division's Strategic Development Group (SDG) supports critical U.S. government programs providing systems engineering support, systems safety support and financial analysis support.
SDG has a near-term need for a Systems Engineer at the Washington Navy Yard.

ResponsibilitiesThe Systems Engineer will provide technical and programmatic systems engineering support to the TRIDENT II missile program within SSP. They will support headquarters level planning, development and execution for a variety of activities including systems integration, missile avionics design, and financial contact for the upcoming TRIDENT II missile system. The Engineer will directly support Missile Branch program managers and engineers in the development and execution of program schedules, technical solutions, and root cause analysis. Travel 3-8 times/year is desired.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in STEM (preferably engineering, chemistry, physics, math), or equivalent job experience. 5+ years professional experience with defense programs. U.S. citizen with DoD security clearance, or ability to obtain and maintain clearance while employed with SPA. Exceptional writing and presentation abilities.Self-motivated with strong work ethic, time management, and interpersonal skills.
Desired Qualifications:
U.S. Navy Submarine Officer experience.Experience working with Strategic Systems Programs (SSP).Experience working with DoD engineering and acquisition processes.
