Systems Engineer
Job Title: Systems Engineer Job Description This position will support the design, development, and acquisition of systems to deliver a reliable tactical network to support critical missions. The role involves the integration, configuration, operation, and maintenance of the network as well as troubleshooting and resolving interoperability issues across platforms. Major Duties: • Perform systems engineering processes, procedures, and best practices. Provide engineering expertise to activities such as development, testing, evaluating, training, and configuration management in support of an acquisition program. • Provide engineering support on the transport and networking architecture focused on current and future tactical network capabilities. • Support design reviews and perform thorough, in-depth technical evaluations and assessments of network performance and architectures, including risk assessments and integration strategies. • Support Capability Set (CS) and Integrated Tactical Network (ITN) activities. • Provide technical support to evaluate and integrate new technologies to modernize communications. • Collaborate effectively with organizations including, but not limited to, PEO C3T, other PMs and PdMs, ACM, and other Army-wide stakeholders to coordinate on interoperability considerations. • Review and understand acquisition documentation for Army tactical communications systems and translate those requirements to support the development of technical solutions that are standards-based and cost-efficient. • Review Government performance work statements and contractor proposals for technical accuracy and to ensure requirements are met. Work Site This is a fully on-site position in Aberdeen, MD Work Environment On-site working in a network testing lab This role also requires travel to customer sites, so there is an expectation of 20% travel.
