Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Scope of Position:

The Systems Engineer will ensure the correct flow of information through our different systems (SAP, CoMET, IFS, FIOS, etc.) to ensure FR’s Operation is keeping efficiency in its resources while maintaining low cost. Will be highly engaged on continuous improvement of reporting, system management, data management, and costing. They will be a liaison between Finances, Planning, and Operations to ensure information is flowing properly while maintaining a close eye on economical results.
 

Day to Day Responsibilities: BOM and SAP Route management and correction Identify process improvement and cost reduction projects based on analysis of process data. The individual is expected to utilize the scientific method to develop, test, and prove hypotheses. Interface with operators, team leaders and peers to develop and implement process, equipment, or safety improvements into manufacturing. Interaction and reporting from SAP and CoMET towards stakeholders Analysis on variations of cost from mix changes, labor, and/or materials Continuous improvement on reporting, data, and software management Active leader/participant of Cost Reduction Projects Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Engineering or other technical field 2-3 years experience in Manufacturing; Engineering or Production with strong skills in SAP and SAP type systems Creative/innovative problem solving Strong technical system/software analytical skills Able to collaborate across organizational boundaries and integrate solutions Results oriented and high commitment The ability to learn new technology and processes quickly
  Desired Qualifications: Lean Methodologies Data management Green Belt or higher High level understanding of business financial operations

The range for this position is $81,553.00 - $112,136.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
