What will you be doing?
World Wide Technology, LLC has an opportunity available for a Systems Engineer to support our Government Services team located in Fort Meade, MD. This position will focus on Engineering and support within a customer’s environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform best practice engineering support for an Azure Cloud environment consisting of Windows and Linux servers Build, configure, patch and maintain Windows and Linux servers via IaC, Ansible Automation Platform, or other automation platforms Integrate services, such as PrinterLogic, distributed file services, and Ansible Automation Platform into the virtualized environment Perform application packaging, deployments, documentation, and release control utilizing Jira, GitLab, IaC, and Ansible Automation Platform Provide advice, technical consultation, and guidance for Tier 3 / Tier 4 support by analyzing and resolving problems and evaluating alternative means of satisfying user requirements Research, test, and deploy security patches and vulnerability remediation changes Provide support for the implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of complex IT systems Perform automation tasks through scripting and testing Provide follow-up reports (technical findings, feedback, and resolution steps) for root causes analysis and process improvement initiatives Actively identify opportunities for improvement, including innovations aimed at improving the user experience, improving efficiencies, and lowering sustainment costs Enforce security best practices and guidelines, leveraging knowledge of security policies, network security, and data security
