The Systems Engineer will participate in engineering activities to ensure successful product development, timely execution of programs, and total customer satisfaction. As a Systems Engineer, you will work multiple engineering disciplines and product development teams ensuring the logical creation and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions with a focus on future technology and integrated systems.

As a Systems Engineer at Frontline Communications, you will be responsible for design, implements, and tests communication systems used in Command and Military specialty vehicles in accordance with engineering standards and project scopes.

YOUR IMPACT:  

Under close supervision and on projects of limited complexity:

Responsible for the design and implementation of the following communications systems: networking, video, audio, intercom, bonded cellular, satellite and microwave RF, modems, land mobile radios (LMR), telephony, and control for customer approval and documentation of systems using AutoCAD or DraftSight

Act as a technical adviser for the Integration Team to ensure the systems are installed properly and working as designed

Serve as Project Manager, working directly with the customer on all issues related to the Systems portion of the project.

Perform final acceptance inspections and training along with the customer

Interface with equipment manufacturers/vendors to specify and troubleshoot equipment

Provide Sales Department with change order information requested by the customer

Assist Sales Department as a technical adviser for future projects providing equipment lists and block diagrams, and attending meetings with customers

Assist in design and improvement of Frontline manufactured products such as: RF controllers, mast camera controllers, and cable testers

Assist Customer Service Team with technical problems experienced by the customer

Communicate and collaborate with engineering co-workers to ensure everyone is informed of customer requests and changes

Continuous learning and self-development in both the day-to-day work, and the profession of communications Systems Engineering.

Collaborate cross functional with multiple disciplines.

Review and approve system and subsystem requirement documents to ensure user needs are properly decomposed and intent of the user needs is met.

Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions.

Use communication skills to work across the organization and customer/user community to ensure consensus and understanding of requirements and solutions.

Responsible for completion of a project or part of a project of moderate complexity on time.

May be responsible for overall project schedule and budget.

May be responsible for managing multiple priorities.

Understand the Product Development Process, Life Cycle Management, Reliability, and Design for Manufacturing requirements.

Work in a team environment with internal and external project teams on advanced control development efforts from the project concept through production.

Establish and manage requirements traceability and compliance.

Prepare system engineering program and design review process (SRR, PDR, CDR, FRR, etc.).

Build consensus.

Manage change.

Convey progress to Senior Management.

Other duties as assigned.

Regular attendance is required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with Internship experience or six (6) or more months of related work experience.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS: 

Accredited bachelor's degree in engineering with a focus in electrical, computer science, software or comparable.

Two (2) or more years of applicable experience with communication system design.

Proficiency in AUTOCAD 2D and Microsoft Office

A programming skill (C#, Python, JavaScript, HTML)

Experience/certification in control systems (AMX, Crestron)

Experience in specialized techniques or principles of communications systems with an emphasis on Command, Broadcast, and Military specialty vehicles, or Military experience in communications technology including systems design/building.

Military experience in communications technology including systems design/building

Good verbal presentation and written communication, and time management and organizational skills

Pay Range:

$63,500.00 - $101,700.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
