As a Systems Engineer you will join an exciting project working on new and innovative engineering activities focused on Submarine Combat System development. As a proactive and collaborative engineer, you will engage directly with key stakeholders as you work to introduce new technology to Australia's fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
System design support and Combat System integration activities.Engineering support to Installation and Set To work of the Combat System.Lead shore and platform Verification activities.Producing Design Certification against top level system specifications.Technical risk analysis, and leading junior engineers to facilitate documenting and executing verification and validation activities.Running major reviews throughout the lifecycle, including peer reviews, preliminary and detailed design reviews and test readiness reviews.Mentoring junior team members to build team skills in systems engineering methodology, as well as the required tools and procedures.Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
Degree Qualified in relevant Engineering disciplines with eligibility to hold Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) standing and a level of Design Authority delegation to support system Design Certification activities.Ideally minimum 4 years’ experience in Systems Engineering involving one or more of the following: requirements definition, design, integration, and verification.Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders at client, peer, supplier, and senior leadership levels.Knowledge of project management milestones coupled with the ability to work autonomously or with minimal supervision to deliver completed work according to scheduled commitments.Available to undertake travel where necessary to meet requirements of the role.Applicants must be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to Negative Vetting 1 level.Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain (as a minimum) a Base line Security Clearance.
