Systems Engineer
Job Description Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Lead the daily activities of a team while providing technical expertise to ensure our client's information systems including hardware, software, and various configurations, is efficient and secure. 2. Act as the point of contact to our client's employees leading and collaborating to understand user requirements, provide recommendations and ensure successful implementation of new technology projects. 3. Participate in the development of strategies to assess the life cycle of the systems infrastructure for our client's near and long-term technology needs. 4. Lead and coordinate systems related tasks for planned and unplanned outages. 5. Develop guidance and architectural designs, and oversee standardized policies, procedures, and training plans for systems administration and disaster recovery. 6. Monitor systems performance and usage to ensure optimal utilization and actively resolve issues. 7. Anticipate and mitigate potential attacks through information systems or other connections to ensure the security of the infrastructure. 8. Recommend and perform configuration changes to the systems environment to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance. 9. Lead vendor and contractor relationships by negotiating agreements, ensuring design meets our client's objectives, and escalating the most complex issues. 10. Act as a point of escalation and resolve complex network problems, create reports, and ensure optimal utilization of the products. 11. Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group, and may act as a lead providing daily work direction and managing timeline of weekly activities depending on assignment. Skills and Requirements -Three years (2,080 annual hours) of direct responsibility administering Microsoft Entra ID or Active Directory, enterprise storage systems (SAN/NAS), and virtualized server solutions in environments with more than 500 users. -Experience in implementing Azure or M365 services for the Enterprise. This would include Exchange Online, Teams, Identity Management and Tenant wide security initiatives. -Advanced technical knowledge of current Microsoft Server, VMware virtualization, and the integration of SAN/NAS technologies into these environments. -Experience implementing automation using PowerShell or other programmatic methods to assist with both complex, and routine operations. -Experience working with Information Security teams, or implementing Information Security initiatives, remediations, and policies. -Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field -Gone through a transition from on prem to cloud environment -Experience with enterprise solutions including, but not limited to, hardware and software components and capabilities of information systems architecture -Knowledge of current server, storage, and related systems, principles, troubleshooting techniques and best practices regarding cybersecurity measures, virtual host environments, SAN and NAS storage systems, server hardware and software, enterprise backup systems, Active Directory, LDAP, SAML, SSL/TLS, DHCP, DNS, remote access solutions, application delivery controllers, and enterprise email solutions -Knowledge of systems concepts, topologies and protocols, standards and management tools essential to perform systems management, performance optimization, preventive maintenance and problem isolation/resolution to assure an optimized computing environment -Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects -Ability to apply effective analytical methods to existing and new applications -Familiarity with Load Balancers or deploying applications behind load balancers. -Knowledge of advanced project management principles and practice to determine program direction, plan work, set goals, monitor and evaluate accomplishments. -Ability to manage, prioritize, and execute multiple enterprise-level concurrent projects and tasks in a high-pressure environment. -Ability to lead, mentor, plan and schedule major systems efforts and provide work direction, guidance and serve as technical resource to a diverse workforce. -Ability to communicate recommendations throughout the organization by presenting highly technical issues to non-technical staff. -Ability to read and interpret complex technical documentation and procedure manuals, in addition to creating and maintaining internal technical documentation. null We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
