Systems Engineer Opportunity - Colorado Springs, CO Job Title: Sr. Systems Engineer Location: Colorado Springs, CO Workplace Type: Hybrid Placement Type: Long-term Consulting (2 years) Job Description: GSCCE stands for Global SATCOM Configuration Control Element. It is a ground system designed to manage and control the Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) satellites, which provide high-capacity communications for military operations. The GSCCE system is responsible for tasks such as detecting, identifying, geo-locating, and mitigating unwanted radio frequency interference on the WGS satellites. The GSCCE program has evolved to incorporate virtual machine software solutions, enhancing its resilience and cost-effectiveness. This evolution supports the U.S. Air Force's Space Enterprise Vision (SEV) and the Enterprise Ground Services (EGS) initiatives. The program is looking for a Systems Engineer to perform a trade study on the existing product in a modernization effort. This role will entail high level system architecture design documentation and automated generation of high level design documents. Essential Skills: + Bachelors in Engineering or related field + 8-10 years' experience as a Systems Engineer completing proper engineering trade studies for modernization + Experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Agile + Experience taking a trade study, creating PDR presentations, following through to CDR, design, integration, and finally implementation + Ground systems experience preferred + Trade Study experience specifically within DoD Additional Skills & Qualifications: + Software architecture experience + SATCOM/telemetry & command experience + Experience with automation of higher level architecture design documents + IDD, SDD, SBOM + Prototyping, modernization of software, virtualization, containerization, visual frameworks + Microservice-oriented architecture + Containerization (Docker, Rancher, Kubernetes) + Experience with Java, git, maven, and Jenkins Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $94.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
