**Job Summary**
As the Systems Engineer you will play a key role in the deployment and support of a critical application for a major Cruise Line.
**Job Description**
We are looking for a **Systems Engineer** to play a key role in the deployment and support of a critical application for a major Cruise Line. This position will be a **full-time** 6 month contract and **onsite** .
**Due to our end client, candidates must be eligible to work in the US without a need for sponsorship now or in the future with the ability to work directly on CAI's W2.**
**What You'll Do**
+ Lead and plan application deployment projects, ensuring successful roll-out across the cruise line fleet
+ Provide remote technical support to crew members for application-related issues
+ Design, plan, and implement application deployments in collaboration with vendors
+ Create technical design specifications as needed for deployments
+ Work in a lab environment to test new concepts, certify new software applications and hardware, and collaborate with vendors on firmware testing
+ Deploy and manage a mix of Windows and Linux virtual machine servers for application delivery
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Network, Security) to ensure proper configuration of DHCP scopes, firewalls, NATs, and DNS for application success
+ Communicate effectively with IT Project Managers regarding project requirements, status updates, changes, blockers, and any factors impacting the deployment plan
+ Develop and maintain well-documented, automated, and reliable systems to ensure efficient operations
+ Train others on system operations to ensure knowledge transfer and continuity
**What You'll Need**
Required:
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
+ Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a Systems Engineer role
+ Strong understanding of system administration principles and best practices
+ Experience working in a diverse IT environment with various operating systems (Windows, Linux) and applications
+ Proven ability to lead and manage technical projects from planning to deployment
+ Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
+ Effective communication and collaboration skills across all levels (technical and non-technical audiences)
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred:
+ Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, etc.) a plus
+ Experience with network configuration (DHCP, firewalls, NATs, DNS) a plus
**Physical Demands**
+ Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
+ Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
+ Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
