Job Description:

GSCCE stands for Global SATCOM Configuration Control Element. It is a ground system designed to manage and control the Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) satellites, which provide high-capacity communications for military operations. The GSCCE system is responsible for tasks such as detecting, identifying, geo-locating, and mitigating unwanted radio frequency interference on the WGS satellites.

The GSCCE program has evolved to incorporate virtual machine software solutions, enhancing its resilience and cost-effectiveness. This evolution supports the U.S. Air Force's Space Enterprise Vision (SEV) and the Enterprise Ground Services (EGS) initiatives.

The program is looking for a Systems Engineer to perform a trade study on the existing product in a modernization effort. This role will entail high level system architecture design documentation and automated generation of high level design documents.

Essential Skills:

Bachelors in Engineering or related field 8-10 years' experience as a Systems Engineer completing proper engineering trade studies for modernization Experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Agile Experience taking a trade study, creating PDR presentations, following through to CDR, design, integration, and finally implementationGround systems experience preferred Trade Study experience specifically within DoD 

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Software architecture experienceSATCOM/telemetry & command experienceExperience with automation of higher level architecture design documentsIDD, SDD, SBOMPrototyping, modernization of software, virtualization, containerization, visual frameworksMicroservice-oriented architectureContainerization (Docker, Rancher, Kubernetes)Experience with Java, git, maven, and Jenkins

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $94.00
