Job Title: Systems Engineer

Job Description

The systems engineering role focuses on supporting unmanned, manned, and optionally piloted aircraft platforms and unmanned ground vehicles. The successful candidate will develop requirements, create system design documentation, utilize and maintain existing analytical models, develop new models, and plan and conduct tests to validate requirements. This position involves working on all phases of the project from definition, design, and testing. The candidate must understand where requirements originate, be involved in planning, and work on the design side.

ResponsibilitiesAnalyze customer and stakeholder requirements, decompose requirements, derive requirements, and allocate them to system and subsystem elements.Develop system architecture for new and existing systems.Conduct trade studies and perform design research to determine optimal requirements and system architecture.Develop test plans and reports.Create test cases based on requirements documentation.Develop system/subsystem interface definitions, system schematics, and system design documentation.Lead and conduct testing as applicable.Work in adherence to structured and defined development processes.Collaborate with the Software Engineering Team to develop software system requirements and test requirements.Participate in planning, design, testing, and deployment of engineered systems and software to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements.Develop ICDs (Interface Control Documents).Plan and execute tests.Work on both sides of the V-model in systems engineering.Essential SkillsBachelor’s or master’s degree in aerospace, electrical, or mechanical engineering.5 - 7 years of industry experience.Experience developing system requirements and architecture in conjunction with the engineering team.Sharp analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and capable of working effectively in a dynamic environment.Technical leadership capabilities.Results-oriented with a sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.Experience working within the Defense and/or Aerospace industry.Experience in aircraft systems is required; experience in unmanned aircraft is a plus.A U.S. DoD Secret Clearance or higher (or the ability to obtain such a clearance if needed).Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with operational test execution.Exposure to schematics and Cameo.Knowledge of DOORS, software, subsystems, test, integration, aircraft, electrical systems, PDR, CDR, ICD, schematic (hardware in the loop, software in the loop environment), Atlassian, requirements Yogi, UAV.Experience in electrical and mechanical engineering.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $85.00
