Position Overview Selected by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Division for Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment (OM&S) of critical mission systems for the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC), we support the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). Since 2020, through the (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II), has provided: + Operations, maintenance, and Sustainment of current and legacy systems for the surveillance and cataloging of manmade objects in space + Mitigation of orbital conflicts + Threat warnings and control from airborne, land-based, and space-based systems for threat activities + Operations and maintenance of classified communications + Software development and integration NISSC II supports the classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability and legacy space C2 systems located at: Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station (CMSFS), Colorado, Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), Colorado, Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska, Vandenberg Space Force Base, California, and Numerous sensor and forward operator sites around the world. Primary Responsibilities The System Engineer supports North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) on the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). The candidate will: + Independently evaluate, select, adapt, and modify standard techniques and criteria to plan and conduct a technical solution for an engineering assignment + Independently plans, schedules, and conducts or coordinates detailed phases of engineering work through the selection and adaptation or modification of techniques, procedures, criteria and update associated documentation and artifacts + Analyze complex features of the work and applies principles and practices of the discipline or devises new approaches in problem solutions + Thoroughly review all results from assigned tasks and determine if outputs are complete, correct, integrated with project objectives, and adequately documented + Apply concepts for developing and establishing systems engineering databases, templates, requirements, and testing + Accomplish tasks of moderate scope and solves problems which require investigation of a select number of system functions + Interpret requirements and perform analyses to ensure that objectives are met Minimum Qualifications + Knowledge of System Engineer V model + Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Visio, Excel) 12 years or more of IT experience + 4 or more years directly related engineering experience + 5 years or more of general work experience + Experience with independently evaluating, selecting, adapting, and modifying standard techniques and criteria to plan and conduct engineering assignment + Experience with plans, schedules, conduct, and coordination of detailed phases of engineering work through the selection and adaptation or modification of techniques, procedures, and criteria + Familiar with Agile Model + Manage multiple troubleshooting tasks simultaneously + Familiar with MBSE concepts.
