Systems Engineers are responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring and managing compute datacenter systems, to ensure maximum uptime for all Cordish Gaming properties. This role includes the implementation of new systems, maintaining/upgrading existing systems and the documentation/standardization of IT Infrastructure designs, configurations and policies.  This person will participate in a peer review process to ensure all proposed changes are implemented following Company security standards.


The Systems Engineer will provide the highest level of support for troubleshooting incidents and will update problem records in an incident tracking system. This person will help train and mentor other members of the team. They may also participate in projects with significant impact and where close coordination and communication is required with other areas such as the networks, database management, IT security, and application development organizations. The ideal candidate will have at least ten years of experience in an IT discipline with at least five years of hands on virtualization, OS management and active directory experience. 

Responsibilities

Where You'll Make an Impact:

Work with IT Infrastructure Team to deploy, monitor, maintain, develop, upgrade and support IT systems, including, datacenter hardware, virtual hosts, storage, operating systems, backups, Microsoft Active Directory, and Infrastructure applications.Manage Active Directory domain servers and certificate repositories.Benchmark, analyze, report on and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.Provision solutions to enable our technical operations teams to support our users.Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.Keep current with the latest technologies.Work with IT Infrastructure Team to develop and implement IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery and service provisioning.Practice asset management for IT compute hardware and software.Train and mentor other members of the Infrastructure and Support Operational Team.Participate actively with the IT Team to ensure our systems environments addresses the needs of the business.Coordinate development of our infrastructure to ensure key business strategies and processes are supported by systems that enable growth and flexibilityTranslate business needs into system solutions making maximum use of available tools while ensuring longer term supportability of the architectureParticipate in selection, installation, operation, support, and maintenance of our information technology infrastructure.Available to work any and all shifts.Be available for on-call support. Qualifications

Must-Haves:

Five years of experience in an IT discipline with hands on virtualization, OS management and active directory experience.Experience in a Microsoft environment, Active Directory, GPO, Server 2012R2 and newer.Experience with VMWare and Veeam environments.Experience with Web-based technologies, such as IIS, nginx or Apache.Experience with Certificate Management.Experience with Cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP is a plus.Experience with Powershell and other automation/scripting technologies is a plus.Preferred Computer/Information Science, Security or Technical Degree.Technical Certifications including VMware/Microsoft/Azure/AWS are a plus.Technical experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree or certification.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit for long periods of time and ability to perform moderate lifting of 30 lbs. or more. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, lift and reach.Ability to work long and varied hours and on shifts, weekends, holidays and special events as needed. Must be able to read, speak and effectively communicate ideas in English. Must be able to think analytically, have basic math skills and be able to read and interpret spreadsheets. Ability to make independent decisions and recommendations.
