What you’ll be doing

You’ll be responsible for providing investigation and second level support on technical issues, system outages and questions from all internal and external application by maintaining, prioritization and addressing to respective CIBC technology groups and vendors. This role requires extensive familiarity with Windows servers and frequently involves user support tasks. Expertise with the Windows operating system and server administration to develop and deploy servers, support day-to-day system performance, and prevent data loss and unauthorized access is required. This role encompasses back-end IT support for business-critical and development-related departments and personnel.

How you’ll succeed     

Production support - Investigate and define operational issues and prioritize based on severity, risk and/or strategic business needs. Design and implement solutions to prevent recurrence with the end goal of ensuring clients satisfaction. Ensure all infrastructure management aspects maintain adherence to all regulatory and information security standards and policies.

Relationship Management - Build strong relationships and partnerships with technical team members, clients, vendors, and peers. Lead discussions, listen, and ask the right questions to ensure problems/issues are identified and resolved.

Projects delivery - Act as subject matter expert in the assessment of impacts for planned system changes and projects, ensuring compliance with relevant organization standards (Business, Continuity, Security, Compliance, and Privacy); develop and maintain productive relationships with Technology, QA, Project team and others. Research, evaluate and support the development and implementation of new and/or revised policies, procedures and standards. Investigate, research and provide recommendations on issues and system outages.

Who you are

You demonstrate 8+ years experience Windows/Linux administration with a minimum of 2+ years experience on Azure (Azure Certification is preferred) .You must have a strong knowledge of the Windows servers (2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022) and managing server virtualization technologies like VMWare Server/ESX, Group Policy design, configuration of Active Directory/LDAP user and group administration

You have strong communication, documentation and critical thinking skills with an ability to apply these skills to identify and resolve anomalies in system functionality and performance.  You are flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and can manage projects of varying length. You are  responsible, highly dependable, organized; able to work individually and collaboratively with peers.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package.  This role has an expected salary range of $110,000- $120,000 based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.  The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
