The VDURA Systems Engineering Team is the critical link between VDURA sales, our customers, our channel partners / resellers and our service and product development teams. Primary responsibilities include technical leadership and thought leadership, storage solution consulting and subject matter expertise on VDURA storage products, distributed storage architecture, file systems, and competitive storage offerings in the DAS, NAS and SAN product spaces. Systems Engineers often also deliver consulting services that may include customer storage design, verification and implementation, as well as technical account management in both pre- and post-sales scenarios. Additionally, Systems Engineering operates as a second-tier support infrastructure and extension of VDURA hardware and software engineering within the field. This ensures highly technical, rapid response and escalation when resolving complex storage or customer infrastructure problems. Systems Engineering will work collaboratively with the VDURA product design teams, Manufacturing and Operations, Sales, Service, and Product Marketing, to ensure end-to-end technical product excellence, and ongoing proactive communications with VDURA customers, prospects and channel partners.**Primary location for this position is Houston, TX** Responsibilities:On-site specialized consulting in Backup, Capacity Planning and Storage System ImplementationLead and develop account strategy using customer's technical requirements, growth plan, timelines, and budget.Maintain a high level of knowledge on VDURA products, roadmaps, competition and pricing.Leverage relationships with VDURA channel partners to provide complete solutions to customer problems.Joint escalation support and technical problem management with VDURA Customer ServiceCustomer technical briefingsSupporting customers with new system deployment, configuration and initial tuning. Skills and Qualifications: BS or higher Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Sciences, or equivalent.Storage industry experience of 7+ years working with distributed and/or clustered file systems (AFS/DFS, NFS, VXFS, Lustre, Weka, DDN, VAST). Prefer HPC/AI storage industry background.Superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures (FC, NAS, OBSD/OSD, SAN)UNIX (BSD, Linux, System V), Networking (TCP/IP, Gigabit Ethernet, Infiniband), Backup (HSM, Legato, Veritas) and Database Administration experienceExperience in Microsoft Windows Server (NT, WIN2K, XP) storage implementations (NTFS/CIFS/SMS) and/or enterprise applications (AD, Data Center, Exchange) is a definite plus.Networking and switching architecture knowledge ideal.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills.Project Management, multi-tasking, and time management skillsCustomer Satisfaction, Quality Black Belt, or related trainingAvailability to travel within the geography or region assigned including air travel, and overnight stays.
