Maxar is looking for a versatile and innovative Systems Engineer to support an interesting and exciting project within the Intelligence Community.
Project:
The Systems Engineer will work independently and as part of a cross-functional team comprised of technical experts supporting an established and growing Intelligence Community (IC) mission. You’ll analyze system requirements and concept of operations documents, acquisition plans, and system designs. As a SE on our team, you’ll use your experience to work with the testers, developers, engineers, and other experts from a wide range of stakeholder groups to evaluate hardware and software developed for integration onto assets. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to advise the government on strategic technical planning, project management, performance engineering, risk management and interface design for legacy and future sensor systems.
Typical daily duties include:
Identifying system requirements and working with other staff to oversee system design, development, integration, and product verification testing at the component and system levelLead, and participate in Technical Exchange Meetings on system integration, technical/programmatic issues, and risk management as needed or requiredSupport testing and test planning across the full range of the acquisition life cycle, providing subject matter expertise and technical support for proof of concept, developmental test, operational tests, and factory & acceptance tests.; gather documentation to support field exercises and coordinate with test ranges and support activitiesAdvocate for program performance that meets the requirements of government project leads, recommending future direction or projects to managementInterface with all aspects of the team to resolve system engineering issues and actions, to include: tracking user requirements and their translation into system requirements and specifications; providing expertise and direction in the development or modification of new capabilities; providing system engineering support and advice for system integrationMust Have Qualification:
6 years of professional experience working in systems engineeringMust have active TS/SCI security clearance and be able and willing to obtain CI PolygraphBachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (4 additional years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree)Desired Qualification:
Advanced degree in an Engineering disciplineExperience following DAU Systems Engineering best practicesPrior support to field sets, legacy field devices, and emerging technologiesExperience working on-site at a customer locationExperience working in DOD/ICPractical RF systems knowledge gained through design, construction, or facilities management work experienceMilitary or defense-related experience and an understanding of operational planning and functional defeat of hard targetsDAWIA Level II or equivalent in the systems planning, research, development and engineering (SPRDE)-S&T functional areasDemonstrated ability to work effectively within or lead a team of peers, as well as excellent interpersonal and communications skillsAbility to communicate highly technical analyses at a level comprehensible to non-technical audiences and senior-level government representativesCareer:

● The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $139,000.00 - $231,000.00 annually.For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
