Come join the Next Generation Geosynchronous Overhead Persistent InfraRed (NGG OPIR) Program Space Vehicle Systems Engineering (SVSE) team in Sunnyvale, CA. The SVSE organization provides systems engineering cohesion amongst Integrated Product Teams for the Spacecraft and Space Vehicle Integration and Launch efforts.
As an Associate Systems Engineer within the SVSE team at the Sunnyvale, CA campus, you will be an integral member who will supports spacecraft specification, requirements verification, vehicle operations, vehicle test, integration and launch support. In this role, you will support:
• Requirements and Verification
• Specifications (Spacecraft Bus Spec, Environmental Spec, etc.)
• Technical Approval Board Processes (Engineering Review Board, Requirement Verification Board, etc.)
• Major program reviews including, but not limited to Readiness for Use (RFU), Test Readiness/Exit Review (TRR/TER), Ship Readiness Review (SRR), Mission Success Consent to Ship Review (MSCSR), and Pre-Ship Review (PSR)
• Space Vehicle Concept Of Operations (CONOPS)
• On-board Command Sequence Macro Design and its integration with Functional Test Assembly capabilities to support safe and suitable capabilities for system level testing
• Telemetry Event Macro Activation development
• Travel occasionally as needed to achieve program goals

Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in an Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or closely related field
• Familiarity with space vehicle engineering development and architecture
• Familiarity or classwork or class projects with mixed signal (digital and analog) circuit design and analysis
• Experience programming in Python and/or PERL
• Understanding of Systems Engineering processes across program lifecycle
• Ability to support the development of engineering specifications, requirements, drawings, and diagrams
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret or higher Security Clearance - U.S. Citizenship required
Desired Skills:
• Working knowledge of FPGA programming
• Working knowledge of Assembly Coding
• Familiarity with authoring requirements documents
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with peers, customers, and management
• Understanding of systems engineering requirement development, decomposition, derivation, allocation, and management of engineering specifications
• Ability to coordinate, schedule, monitor, track, and manage actions with multiple working groups (large and small), and help bring actions to closure and to board
• Positive attitude, accountable, and responsible with ability to work in a team-focused, dynamic environment
• CAMEO to develop specifications and requirements
• Assembly coding to build command sequencing and time and event tags
• Developing Familiarity with DOORS, CAMEO
• Active or Current DoD Secret Level Security Clearance

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $55,300 - $106,000. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $63,600 - $119,800. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
