Skills and Competencies
* Proven experience as a Monitoring Engineer or similar role in a large-scale enterprise environment.
* In-depth knowledge of monitoring tools such as BMC Helix Operations Manager, Data Dog, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, SolarWinds, Grafana, Splunk, or similar.
* Strong understanding of networking, systems administration, and cloud technologies.
* Experience with scripting and automation using languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, AWS, Microsoft, etc.) are a plus.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
Responsibilities
We are seeking a skilled Enterprise Monitoring Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing monitoring solutions across our enterprise infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, availability, and reliability. This role requires a deep understanding of monitoring tools, systems, and best practices, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to identify and address monitoring needs.
* Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise-wide monitoring solutions to ensure the health, performance, and availability of critical systems, applications, and services.
* Develop monitoring strategies and implement best practices to proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact business operations.
* Configure and customize monitoring tools to meet specific requirements and integrate with existing systems and workflows.
* Monitor system performance metrics, logs, and alerts to identify trends, anomalies, and potential areas for optimization.
* Collaborate with infrastructure, operations, and development teams to gather requirements, define monitoring objectives, and implement solutions that meet business needs.
* Create and maintain documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base articles related to monitoring tools, configurations, and processes.
* Perform regular reviews and audits of monitoring configurations, thresholds, and alerts to ensure accuracy, relevance, and effectiveness.
* Participate in incident response activities, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and post-mortem reviews, to identify opportunities for improvement.
* Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in monitoring and alerting to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
* Provide training and support to team members and stakeholders on monitoring tools, techniques, and best practices.

The Enterprise Monitoring and Automation team is responsible for automation, infrastructure, network, and software alert monitoring.
