Systems Engineer - Gateway Test and Verification - Houston, TX 9/80 schedule
This position is available from mid - experience level individuals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with NASA Engineering teams to oversee the assessment of certification products.Participate in the review of Test and Verification plans and Qualification Test Reports as part of a larger team.Facilitate the review process of certification products, identifying key stakeholders and technical expert reviewers.Ensure all testing requirements are met by reviewing and approving verification documents.Assist in developing a verification database based on Gateway and Cross-Program requirements.Develop test cases and events to support verification activities.Coordinate with requirements owners to ensure accurate and complete verification activities.Work with test lab teams to prepare the environment for execution.Support the execution of verification activities, including test and analysis.Perform other duties as assigned.REQUIRED:

Depending on experience, requirements, and business needs, candidates may be considered at any level for which this position has been advertised.US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related information.A bachelor's degree in engineering is required.Must have 5+ years of relevant work experience. Licenses and certifications may be required.Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, including mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, and material selection.Understanding of systems engineering principles and associated documentation.Ability to prepare written documents and present verbally at various meetings.DESIRED:
Familiarity with NASA and JSC standard practices and requirements, including safety, fault tolerance, and unique disciplines.Experience in developing space systems requirements documents, including Verification and Validation documents.Experience in the design, assembly, verification, testing, and operation of hardware.INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certification.Familiarity with NASA/JSC documentation databases and SharePoint sites, as well as typical systems engineering products.WORK LOCATION:
This position is located onsite.Offers a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.May require some travel.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
