Compensation

Compensation includes a base salary of $65,500.00 - $98,300.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented IT Monitoring Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will leverage tools such as ServiceNow ITOM, SolarWinds, and New Relic to ensure seamless monitoring and automation of our IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for administering monitoring tools, writing synthetic testing scripts, automating alert responses, and documenting monitoring solutions. This is a critical role that requires strong technical expertise, communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

The Systems Engineer is responsible for quality support and implementation of key infrastructure processes, technologies, platforms and tools. This role involves a variety of practices ranging from managing and providing support services for business customers and IT customers, as well as providing technical support for internal IT teams.   The Engineer is the subject matter expert in designated infrastructure and application areas.  The candidate should have a good grasp of delivery methodologies as well as support processes and systems. 

In the support role, the candidate will be responsible for the creation, implementation, and perpetuation of support process that allow the team to provide superior customer support.  The candidate must be able to work with technical teams and leadership in the achievement of IT Operational objectives.  Additionally, the candidate will be responsible defining an “engagement model” for team as well as project engagement activities.  These activities include leading, coordinating, designing, testing, developing and implementing application support solutions and tools appropriate for the specific CAI project or platform.  The individual will evaluate the existing IT Operations platform under his/her domain of responsibility, recommend functionality and process changes necessary to drive consistent and superior delivery of service and availability.

To be successful in this role the individual must be able to work effectively in a fluid, fast-paced environment as well as multitask.  In addition, he/she must be able to demonstrate the ability to independently drive the success of implementations and maintenance projects. This role requires good communication skills, with team members, vendors and leadership. 

Primary Responsibilities:

Administrate Orion Platform Suite for Cox Automotive; Server & Application Monitor (SAM); Network Configuration Manager (NCM); Network Performance Monitor (NPM).Automate alert responses and workflows within the Network Operations Center (NOC) to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.Document monitoring solutions, including configurations, processes, and best practices, ensuring clarity and accessibility for stakeholders.Utilize GitHub for version control and collaboration on monitoring scripts and configuration changes.Stay up to date with industry best practices for IT monitoring and propose enhancements to existing solutions.

Qualifications:

Candidate must have a minimum of 2-3 years of SolarWinds Orion products experience and/or other enterprise monitoring tools experience interacting with 3rd party systems preferably in role(s) such as a system administrator, engineer, developer or SME capacity.Strong attention to detail, a collaborative mindset, and a willingness to learn and grow within a dynamic IT environment.Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision.Must demonstrate strong critical thinking and analytical reasoning skills.Ability to execute assigned project tasks within an established schedule.Ability to communicate effectively in the service of users and colleagues.Provide support for ServiceNow ITOM, including Push Connectors, Event rules, Alert management rules and Remediation Subflows.Write and maintain custom scripts for automation, data collection, and alert management using languages such as Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript.Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as 4 years’ experience in a related field.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

Experience with Terraform to manage infrastructure as code (IaC).Familiarity with writing and executing Ansible playbooks for configuration management and automation.
