Systems Engineer II
Under minimal supervision, designs, installs monitors and troubleshoots complex technical systems in support of health system applications and users and in compliance with HIPAA guide lines. Uses technically sophisticated tools to track trends, improve performance, plan capacity and manage projects. Analyzes user requirements, workflows and procedures with an eye toward automation, process improvement, system security and end user satisfaction. Creates and maintains detailed documentation on systems and processes. Analyzes infrastructure needs for new systems. Works closely with vendors to specify and manage projects. Reviews servers and applications for security and performance standards. Assists as needed to account for the daily operations of networked systems including troubleshooting, disaster recovery, file, print and user administration. Participates in after hour and on-call support.

Education:
Bachelors Degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
 

Licensures/Certifications:
• Certification in one or more of the following platforms is preferred: Citrix, VMware, EMC
 

Experience:
5-10 years of progressive responsibility administering, installing, and designing networked computer systems.
 

Skills:
• Excellent skill in oral and written communication.
• Knowledge of advanced administrative tasks on multiple platforms and operating systems.
• Skill in formal project management including the use of project management software
• Ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
• Experience with server virtualization, Enterprise SAN administration, Windows AD
• Experience with VDI solutions, especially Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop
• Experience with DNS, DHCP, and networking protocols
• Familiarity with HIPAA, HITECH, ITIL, and PMI practices

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Continually analyze new and existing systems to ensure compliance with established standards and practices.
• Recommend and implement changes required as a result of user requests, regulatory changes or analysis of new or existing systems
• Lead the implementation of new systems.
• Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities and workflow.
• Administers networked computer services and disaster recovery through use of relevant hardware and software. Ensures testing of systems and quality control as needed.
• Assist in the performance of routine tasks such as day-to-day management of data backups, User and e-mail accounts, print Q’s, file shares and file share based applications.
• Proactive capacity planning, performance and security monitoring. Assist with ensuring that server OS’s are kept up to date with latest relevant patches.
• May participate in the on-call rotation and act as second level helpdesk support and maintain documentation library of all relevant systems if necessary.
• Ensures that back-up management is completed

Pay Range

$75,318.06 - $135,572.50

Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
