(Contingent upon contract award) Position Overview: First Division Consulting is seeking a Systems Engineer II to support network security operations, firewall rule management, network performance monitoring, and incident response at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD). The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security, stability, and performance of critical network infrastructure, working with Cisco firewalls, Cisco ISE, and TCP/IP Layer 2/3 networking. This role requires strong network security expertise, hands-on experience with Cisco ASA firewalls, and the ability to respond to security incidents in a DoD environment. Key Responsibilities: + Support network security operations, ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies. + Manage and maintain firewall rules, including Cisco ASA firewall configurations. + Monitor network performance, identifying and resolving connectivity and security issues. + Respond to security incidents, investigating and mitigating threats in real-time. + Implement and maintain Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) to support network access control. + Work with TCP/IP Layer 2/3 protocols, ensuring efficient network traffic management. + Provide technical documentation and reporting on network security configurations and incidents. Requirements Required Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related technical field. + Four (4) years of experience in: + Network security operations and firewall management. + Cisco ASA firewalls and security configurations. + Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) implementation. + TCP/IP Layer 2/3 network protocols and troubleshooting. + Active Top Secret (TS) Clearance is required. + IAT Level 2 certification (one or more of the following): + Security+ CE (CompTIA Security+) + CCNA Routing & Switching + CCNA Security + CySA+ (CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst) + GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional) + GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials Certification) + CND (Certified Network Defender) Preferred Qualifications: + Experience supporting DoD or Navy network security environments. + Knowledge of network segmentation, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA). + Familiarity with next-generation firewalls (NGFW), VPN solutions, and network security monitoring tools.
