Systems Engineer II - Wireless Operations - Release Management

JOB SCOPE

Responsible for assisting design, development, and implementation of enterprise-wide Operations Support Systems (OSS) applications and their associated operating systems and databases. Responsible for Application Administration of OSS applications supporting all Charter Divisions. Participation in full life-cycle of systems engineering activities of high-quality, scalable solutions.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience

Reviews existing integration capabilities, data sources, and proposed solution designs for feasibility, cost and functionality.

Creates detailed design documents and functional specifications for new applications / services and for enhancements to existing systems / services.

Creates work effort estimates for assigned tasks and support prioritization and release management.

Develops of core code modules, unit test tools and release notes for enhancements and bug fixes.

Provides 'on call' support to overnight change/release activities for Wireless applications issues after normal business hours.

Uses established change management processes, requiring operational procedures be performed with minimal customer impact, (i.e. during established maintenance window).

Documents systems configurations and upgrades.

Designs and implements change control policies and disaster recovery plans.

Monitors and assists in managing applications, device availability, network conditions and system reliability and performance, service and program maintenance and storage resources.

Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.


REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES AND KNOWLEDGE

Ability to read, write, speak and understand EnglishDemonstrated in-depth ability to create detailed documentation to functionally understand new and existing applicationsDemonstrated in-depth ability to follow and implement established change and control policies and proceduresDemonstrated in-depth ability to troubleshoot application problemsDemonstrated in-depth knowledge of development tools, application frameworks, and testing toolsDemonstrated in-depth knowledge of OSS applications and softwareDemonstrated in-depth knowledge of choosing the appropriate lifecycle and the planning, monitoring and control of the systems engineering process

REQUIRED RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE

Application Development experience – 3 yrsSystem Administration experience – 3 yrsDatabase support and development experience – 2 yrsExperience in Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) – 2 yrs

PREFERRED SKILLS/ABILITIES AND KNOWLEDGER

Network CCNA/CCNPWireless LAN controller knowledge/certifications – RACA/RAZARedHat - RHCSAVirtualization - vSphere, vCenter, eSXI, vROPS

REQUIRED EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience; May require Industry Standard Certifications

The base pay for this position generally is between $75,200.00 and $120,000.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
