Our teams are engaged in multiple cutting\-edge development programs for defense applications\. The strong candidate will possess a broad knowledge base in multiple engineering disciplines and be able to execute in both R&D and production environments\. Required experience includes hardware and/or software integration, managing requirements derivation and allocation, overseeing technical execution of engineering projects, and successfully working within a collaborative team environment\. A desire to take ownership of design efforts to integrate new technology into our vehicles is essential\. **_Responsibilities:_** + **Engineering Design and Development:** - Support full\-lifecycle engineering design and development activities on established and disruptive new products\. - Work across engineering disciplines to develop conceptual designs that solve complex problems\. - Lead and/or perform requirements analysis and derivation to understand customer needs\. - Develop architecture models utilizing SysML to support requirements development and derivation\. - Use requirements management and test tools to decompose program requirements\. **Model\-Based Systems Engineering \(MBSE\):** Develop and maintain system models using MBSE methodologies and tools\.Utilize SysML for creating and managing system architecture models\.Integrate MBSE practices into the overall systems engineering process to improve design, analysis, and verification activities\.Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure MBSE models accurately represent system requirements and design\. **Systems Integration and Testing:** Perform hands\-on integration of components and subsystems into Ground Vehicles\.Develop integration test plans and procedures to verify product integration\.Perform analysis of data extracted from testing\.Define methods, processes, and evaluation criteria for verifying systems, subsystems, and work products against their requirements\. **Collaboration and Communication:** Prepare and present systems engineering work products to internal review teams and external customers at program milestone reviews\.Interact daily with technical leads, program managers, planners, technicians, and other engineers\.Collaborate with others within the workgroup, with other departments, and with customers\. **Project Management and Technical Direction:** Lead/participate in an Integrated Product Team to design new capabilities based on evaluation of all necessary development and operational considerations\.Provide technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of specific components of complex hardware/software systems\.Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture\(s\)\.Lead the development of system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components\.Generate Statements of Work and manage outside contractor performance\.Mentor others within the work group, department, and the organization\.Generate solid Basis of Estimates and manage Earned Value for design/development cost accounts as Cost Account Manager\.Provide technical direction to engineering staff and technicians of all disciplines as required\.Perform review of engineering work products to ensure technically accurate and quality work products\.Drive tasks to completion independently\. **Qualifications** **_Qualifications_** **Education and Experience:** Bachelor's Degree in Engineering \(electrical, mechanical, or systems engineering\) required; Master's Degree in Systems Engineering preferred\.Minimum six years of experience in a systems engineering or design engineering role required\.Experience with hardware and/or software integration, managing requirements derivation and allocation, or architecture design\.Experience with systems engineering, MBSE, and modeling software\.Experience with requirements management and analysis\.Experience with a broad array of engineering tools/languages including MATLAB Simulink, Cameo/No Magic Products, JIRA, and/or SysML\.Experience documenting logical or physical designs using drawing tools \(e\.g\., Visio, PowerPoint, Cameo/MagicDraw\) to depict systems, subsystems, interfaces, components, and communications\.Experience in a Department of Defense \(DoD\) environment is preferred\.Experience in ground vehicle design & development preferred\.Experience or certifications in Model\-Based System Engineering \(MBSE\) \(i\.e\., OCSMP Certification\) is a plus\. **Soft Skills:** Effective and efficient writing and presentation skills\.Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with others\.Demonstrated self\-starter with organizational, planning, and follow\-up skills\.Customer interfacing and ability to build relationships\.Ability to work in teams and independently with minimal direction\.A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products **Other Requirements:** Ability to travel up to 25%\.Active Secret Clearance preferred; Secret Clearance eligibility required\. **_How We Care_** At Textron Systems, our talented people make us successful\.
