Responsibilities The Systems Engineer will support the Sponsor's cloud solution organization by providing consulting and hands-on expertise to develop, implement, and manage the automated testing strategy for a multi-vendor (cloud service provider) environment. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for testing all services to ensure compliance with governance/policy as defined and implemented by the cloud commercial engineering team. Emphasis would be placed on developing automated test scripts so that testing could be reproducible and moving the team towards test-driven development. Duties include but are not limited to: Develop and execute testing cases that address network connectivity, account isolation, role management, access control, audit, and account creation automation. Document defects, using a tracking system, and report defects to development. Document test procedures to ensure compliance with standards. Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems. Prepares milestone status reports and deliveries/presentations on the system test and evaluation concepts. Perform analysis of documented user requirements and design test plans in support of user requirements for the system. Work with the team and schedule SMEs to plan test schedules and strategies by project scope and delivery dates. Monthly and/or weekly reporting. Qualifications Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph A bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a scientific or technical discipline. At least 10 years of experience relevant to the role as a systems engineer supporting system integration and test activities on a large integration program/cloud environment. Analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original concepts/theories for various projects. Technology Design - Adapting equipment and technology to serve user needs. Ability to convert customer or product requirements logically and systematically into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Ability to analyze and study complex system requirements, for example: Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, cost estimation, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Apply the concept of operations set of disciplines for the planning, analysis, design, and construction of information systems across a major sector of the organization. Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. Experience with activity and data modeling, transaction flow analysis, internal control and risk analysis and modern business methods and performance measurement techniques. Significant knowledge and understanding of cloud technologies from at least one vendor (AWS, Oracle, Microsoft, or Google), and ability to learn cloud technologies from vendors not familiar with. Strong communication and organizational skills. Demonstrated hands-on experience with establishing and/or executing automated testing procedures. Demonstrated knowledge of Agile Methodologies. Demonstrated ability to work as an active member of a cohesive and energetic team and ability to work independently as needed to meet requirements. Desired Qualifications: Ability to convey technical information to non-technical individuals. Ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment. Strong oral and written communications and interpersonal skills. Complex Problem Solving - Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
